This was awesome. Loved those pop up cards growing up. I’m glad Donruss went back to the normal size in 88. Porter has two of those books, A’s and I believe Cubs.

For sure! It feels good to put them in order, some are way back 'my original' cards from then. Fun to go through for sure!

I guess if you truly want a ‘master’ set of 1988 Donruss you’ll have to buy that book. Nice showcase. Thanks for sharing.

I love some 1988 Donruss as well. Really not a bad Rookie lineup. Grace was a very good player in my opinion. That is a young mcgriff. Enjoyed.

Great video man, I love this set also. Hard to piece together though. I’ve opened 2 boxes & still have a few cards to go! Almost there. My favorite card in the set is probably the Maddux 2nd year. Thanks for sharing & congratulations on completing your set!!

Thanks! I need like 8, and Mike another 12/13 that could use a better copy for the set. I was shocked that it was that low. The last set I put together, I felt good at the start of the process and got to the end to need 120 of the 600😕… not so close! Great looking Maddux for sure!

Nice overview of the set Jason! Personally, I think the best thing about it was the wax pack boxes. 😉This was perfect timing for this video, as I now just added a Cecil Fielder to my Christmas card for you.

John-It was fun to put together!! It’s hard to believe just how old 1988 is today🤔😁😕 It just takes you back doesn’t it?! Great players, affordable packs, but just hard to keep in good shape! Dude thanks! Big Cecil- thanks! Have a great weekend John!!

you have time to put cards away nice and neat I would never have the time! cards after 1981 for some reason with these players I have troubles buying there cards Nolan Ryan , Mike Schmidt, Steve Carlton , Mr. October ect I wouldn't call 1988 Vintage, sheets and binders , lucite cases , hard plastics were out. I would call them older Modern cards? Vintage would be more like a 1975 George Brett, 76 , 74 Parker, 74 Schmidt some say Vintage ends in 1980 with Rickey Henderson. from some where around 1941 , 1948 up to 1980 would be Vintage?. then older Modern picks up in 1981? some very nice Diamond King cards Tim Raines and Mark Mcgwire , nice Donruss rated rookie cards Roberto Alomar ,and Mark Grace , I have some Alomar cards I want to say 1988 or 1989 but Topps , nice Yount , nice Dawson Joe Carter , Mattingly , Jim Rice , I would say your Glavine is a 5.00dollar card your right it's not 10.00 here are 2 questions question 1 at your local card shop how much do you think that card would go for in that same condition Glavine card 644? 1. B how much do you think that would go for with these grades on it an 8, a 9 and a 10 any company with a sticker on it? question 2 in Atlanta city or the suburbs if you walked into a card shop how much do you think that would go for? 2 B same question as !B but for the area of Atlanta?

Mark thanks for taking the To watch and comment! I try to sort cards when I would buy/get a collection. Then I try to get them i. The same SET 5000 count box. Then I can decide if I can/should put a set together. I don’t ever look up cards anymore. When I was a youngster, I loved Beckett/ Tudf Stuff and other price guides. I’ll have to look up that Glavine. I don’t grade cards so im not sure the difference in pricing for it, though I would imagine it much higher I. The Atlanta area for sure.

@@basementcardcollector it may cost 5.00 in Atlanta but items in stores , food at restaurants cost less housing cost less so 5.00 in New York is more than 5.00 in Atlanta.
