Hey Jeremy, I always enjoyed your build updates and voted for you in Hawk of the month many years ago. Even if you had bought it sparkling in it's packing crate, you still made it ten times better. All the best from the London in your future projects.

No. 6 - Whoa! That’s absolutely awesome! Someday I’ll probably build another hawk, but for now, cars just make more sense. I traded my Hawk for this -> rattymusclecar.com . It’s even yellow! Thank you so much for saying hello and staying in touch! This made my day!

Whoa! Beautiful bike! I love seeing people racing these things. Occasionally I see them on trailers going to (or at) New Hampshire Motor Speedway. They always catch lots of attention because they are so unique.

Most of it is ok. Hate the taillights, but I'm not sure what's better.

how did you hide all the wiring compnents and battery? or where did you hide it?
@WiringRescue
@WiringRescue Жыл бұрын
Hello! The battery lives in front of the shock where the coolant overflow bottle normally goes. I then built a custom coolant overflow bottle into the rear swing arm. All the wires and modules are hidden under the tank and inside the seat. It’s a tight fit!

I made it myself out of fiberglass. It uses 1964 Impala tail lights. Cool right?

Hey. Is the battery not overheating? he is standing right at the engine. I apologize for the errors, translated through google.

John Baton - the battery never had any problems. I did have an aluminum heat shield in between the engine and battery that I made.

Hey do you recall what subframe you used for this? Or did you adjust the stock subframe to fit
@WiringRescue
@WiringRescue 6 ай бұрын
I made the subframe from scratch about 25 years ago. The base of it is square steel tube like the original. Then it’s wrapped in fiberglass, with Impala tail lights and a foam seat.

gotcha thanks for the response. I'm debating doing a build on a hawk, just been doing some research before committing. But seems like custom sub is the way to go@@WiringRescue

- hawks are incredibly fun bikes. I wish I kept mine. I traded it for a car, but that was dumb.

It was traded away that day, and the new owner was thrilled to get it. Nobody seemed bothered by the cleanliness of it. :)

You ruined a cult classic nice looking straight out of the factory bike....... all you should have done is add a solo seat cowl and perhaps add an inverted fork from a Honda CBR. Do your homework, youngster! To each their own, I suppose.
@WiringRescue
@WiringRescue 5 жыл бұрын
Tony Kart Racer - you really shouldn’t assume things. Here’s why: A: When I bought this bike, it came in 5 gallon buckets, and all the major parts were missing, including the gas tank, entire rear subframe and plastics, all lights, front fender, exhaust, clip-ons, etc. So I built a bike from parts, I didn’t “ruin” a stock bike. B: I’m not a youngster. C: These bikes are not rare or valuable. $1500 can buy one nearly anywhere in the country. D: I bet you’re great at parties.
