1993-1994 KDX200 have the rare USD blue anodized front forks, very desirable. Better up-front rock clearance. Suspension on these is soft for a reason, woods bike, and it is the best. Even this 30 year old bike will handle the single track comfortably and keep up with any bike in the gnarley stuff. Will far out-last modern bikes because they are so well built. KIPS valves are sold aftermarket made of steel to replace the lightweight aluminum ones that are prone to failure. If you are into woods riding, you must experience this bike, it is a pleasure! Best woods bike I ever rode.

As much as I like KDX's, I can't say it's the best woods bike. Maybe of it's time, but when you compare it to newer enduro bikes it just can't match up against them. It feels heavier and is not balanced that well. I really like the low seat height, but the ground clearance could be better. Best 90's bike I've ridden has to be the '95 WR250Z 2-Stroke. It's very well rounded and I would say even better than many of today's sophisticated enduro dirt bikes!

I added some preload to the front and it makes a big improvement. It doesn't feel like it is going to tuck anymore and is still supple. I used 1" a PVC pipe cut about 1/2" longer.

Just picked up a clean 89 kdx 200 for $500....just needs a stator and can't wait to take it for a rip. I already have a Gas Gas xc250 but just bought that a few months ago for a great deal also. Saw this bike and jumped on it quick cause I'd like my brother to ride with me and I've heard this bike is an awesome all arounder. Thanks for the review bud

@endurobandit5 жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Since you're interested, I have some videos of the 280ZX on my other channel: kzbin.info/www/bejne/noenla2ojaytf6s I don't have any vids on the 3000GT yet. It's just the base model but with alot of the options the SL had. The previous owner neglected it mechanically, and it fried a piston shortly after I bought it. Since then my Dad swapped in the twin-cam N/A engine which is a big upgrade from the lame single-cam the base models come with. It was a very challenging engine swap because of all the sensors (and this is a California car). Now there are only a few things left to do and it will be ready to hit the road!

Great looking bike. ....I have a opportunity to buy a 89 KDX200 for 400 but it does need a carb clean and chain. Still cant make up my mind but I've been hearing alot of good things about the KDX

It's very very different from a trials bike. It's not all that agile for an enduro bike either, but it's a good bike nonetheless.

Are those the stock fork boots on your kdx? And hows the seat? Do you slide everywhere and does it bother you? I want to replace my stock cover with a grippy one and sell the OEM one.
@endurobandit6 жыл бұрын
Not sure if the fork boots are stock but I think they are. I'm happy with the stock seat. It's comfy and I don't slide on it like I do on my IT200's seat.
@StilwellMotovlogger6 жыл бұрын
My fork boots ripped all the way around and had to order new ones on my 95’ kdx, expensive things at $140
@endurobandit6 жыл бұрын
Dang that sucks! The fork boots on my IT200 are pretty torn up after only 2 years. The ones on the KDX must be higher quality because they haven't torn at all.

I know UFO makes all the plastics for them. They're not hard to find, ebay for starters. You can get full decal kits for it too but that'll cost a bundle.

Clutch cables are pretty easy to install, but confusing if you haven't done that before. You can always get a shop to do it for you and it wouldn't cost much at all. Were is the KDX you are interested in?
