California Chair is the Worth It winner. The owner's philosophy, the price, the practicality, & the comfort. And the owner struck a chord w/ me when he talked about how many cheap chairs you'd buy that would wear out when you could buy just ONE of his & it would last. I've bought 2 office chairs in the last 4 years. The last 1 I bought already has cracked arms & a cracked seat, & parts of the feet are coming off.

The one thing I love that J. Rusten brings up is that the price of the chair has a lot to do with the large amounts of time it takes to make it. Of course $9800 is a lot, but it is the craftmanship you are paying for. It is an art, and like many other types of art, you pay for the amount of effort it takes to make it. Props to him. He is honest about the price and honest about his work.

I liked this episode a lot!!! but I have to say, as an industrial designer, I feel it is unfair to put the office chair in this video. People do not generally buy office chairs in the same way they do the other two options. Unlike the other two options, which are generally heavily judged on their looks, and what they say about you, office chairs are graded more on their utilitarian use and not what they say about you. This is why you don't usually see people using office chairs as dining room or living room pieces where things are meant to be shared and actively enjoyed, you find them in offices, at home and at work, where they are meant to be invisible and unassuming. I think a good value option would have been IKEA, Crate & Barrel, or other similar stores where people go to buy chairs for very similar reasons they would go to the other two higher end places. That said I really enjoyed watching this episode :D keep up the good work guys.

The California chair website says to get the price featured on Buzzfeed you have to contact them, they list the starting price for the one featured at $199 for $499. Whole pricing seems shady-

i went to that website, and there isn't a single chair that at $200, i'm not sure how you would get that. like the universal is set at around $500-600 depending what you get.

haha i hope the two of them just take over the whole worth it series. they are the best and most watchable. i would actually consider subscribing to buzzfeed. just so i can see these videos with the two of them. i would suffer my feed being littered with eveyrthing else i guess.
