You're welcome, but this video here will be almost exactly the same as your Mercury. Other than your armrest will come off differently. Hi Tony. How are your parents doing? Are you searching for another 89 tc? Good luck in your search if you do. Just wanted to say thanks again for these videos. I came home yesterday and my back passenger window was stuck down. I took the panel off and everything looked good so I took the motor out and all the plastic was in crumbles. I replaced the pins and presto. Working window. Thank you Tony!

Another nice door panel! Looks like they changed/improved the design of the vapor barrier/insulation blanket for the better! It's funny how the guys/gals on the assembly line make this stuff look like child's play! It is hard to believe that those "torque pins" can get obliterated like that, the window motor must be powerful. I'm surprised it doesn't rip the teeth off that white plastic gear! Someday I have to get the panel off my passenger door, you can hear something rattling around when the door is closed. The "boss" was pissed off at me (so what else is new!) and slammed the door a few years back, has rattled like that ever since!

This is very helpful thank you Tony! I have a 1968 Thunderbird 4 door and began tackling replacing a power window motor and realized that I need to drill holes in the door oye vey! I see a drill template in the shop manual but it is still confusing.. wish me luck!

Oh my gosh I’ve done both my front doors and I took the glass all the way out and took regulators all the way out. Wish I had seen this before I went through all that. Will do my back doors like this thanks.

Hi Tony, hope all is well! I just bought a mint 94 TC Exec Series, it's had all the power windows services but I'm hoping you might have an idea as to what the cause might be for two issues I noticed: 1.) as the front driver's side window goes up, the back edge of the window moved out from the track slightly... it doesn't come off the track but there is a small space that then closes once the window is fully closed, 2.) the rear driver's side window chatters in it's track as it goes up... the passenger side windows operate normally. Would love to know if you have an idea what could be causing the driver's side issues. Thank you!!!

I remember my first window failure in mid 1990's. You couldn't get plugs anywhere and ford wanted $300 for a complete motor. Only way it could be fixed. I took a 2× 4 cut it to keep the window up. Totally frustrated since I paid so much for the car.

I put a dab of gorilla super glue on each corner under the ashtray door to close them keep them closed. It drove me nuts seeing them open. Nobody is allowed to smoke in my 92 town car. No smoking no eating or drinking. Lucky to even breathe in my car lol. That's what I did to close them permanently and u don't even see it or even know i used the glue

They always break and stay open. He's saying that he closed them so he doesn't have to look at them open all the time. It's not like the super glue can't be removed.

I don't know why ford puts a plastic part in the window motor that fails over time. If the plastic part was metal this would eliminate the problem of fixing this issue.
