The broadcast essentially ignored Irwin until he made his fourth birdie in a row. One of golf's iconic images in him making that dash around the green. Of course, Hale, Billy Ray Brown, and Mize could have signaled planes passing overhead with their attire

It was a shame that it took 91 holes to decide this tournament..I’m sure I wasn’t the only one who was hoping Mike Donald would pull it off..he easily played every bit as good as Irwin until the very end

Irwin was voted the player PGA players least liked to be paired with in the 1990s. Great player, but a lousy human being.

@@greatwhiteshark9192 I read more than one article several years back about how a number of players who were teamed with Irwin couldn't stand him because the guy never had anything nice to say about anybody. They said that he couldn't even say "good shot" when one of them made a particularly excellent iron shot or putt. He basically didn't say anything after saying hello on the first tee. One player said even Faldo, who was notorious for not talking, would at least say "nice shot" once in a while.
