Car KZbinrs don't focus enough on their own cars, IMO. I personally would love to see more NSX content. It's a 90s Japanese legend!

17+ year owner of a 91 Sebring Silver @ 116K miles. I bought it with 26K miles. Minus the usual casualties (leaky electronic capacitors) and general maintenance, I have had to do nothing to it. Still has the original clutch. Fun watching you drive "my car". Keep up the great content.

I like the idea of weight reduction for a naturally aspirated NSX, kind of a USDM NSX-R, like the one you featured on this channel. Headers and a lightweight battery spring to mind as relatively simple bolt-in options in addition to the weight saving parts you already have.

Only added 12k miles over the course of 6 years?! That's criminal! Should be at 200k by now! Would love to see future videos of mods and quality of life changes for this NSX. Bay Area resident as well! 👍

Great to see the nsx out again! For mods, I would suggest jdm short gears... makes the na1 feel way quicker. Big Brake kit and finally... the quaife steering rack mod from nsxrackrepair. Changes the lock to lock to 2.5 from 3.5. Then just enjoy it.

One if my biggest regrets is not buying these when they were in the mid 20's. Edit: good call on the jdm trans and type r fd. You can buy the fd brand new from the dealers in japan. The trans are $$$$ though

I have a 91 and I also thought the 2nd gear ratio was too tall, so I had a 6 speed installed with stock gear ratios and I retained the twin plate clutch setup by using an nsx-r input shaft. I did this about 4 yrs ago and the price was reasonable then. I also installed the slightly larger brake setup from a 97 and newer model. Factory headers from a 2002 model were ceramic coated and installed along with a Gen. 2 Comptech muffler. So far im happy with these mods.

Nice video. My Japan 91 in 2nd gear goes to about 120 kph and the USA is 133kph. Most popular mods here are all NA. light flywheel, LSD, 6 speed, cams, injectors, pistons for about 360hp but this will not last long so 340hp is a safe but. Biggest shop at the moment that does this work is T3. One car laps Suzuka about 8 secs faster than me 2:32 to 2:40 in a car similar to yours but with hard suspension and 17 and 18" wheels. Sound and speed is very different.

I don't know... As an S2000 owner, which is a 20-year old car now, I am seeing it (and the NSX) as a classic car that should be driven more, but not "overly"-driven or heavily modified. It's a personal view but also has to do with maintaining the car in its purest form, given that such cars will never be produced again. I would certainly love to see more NSX content, I have been following you since your early S2000 days. ☺️👌👍
@sbfd3s
@sbfd3s 2 жыл бұрын
But why? If you own a car like the NSX or S2000 you should track it until it dies. You don't owe the random next owner anything. You should enjoy the car to its fullest potential. The S2000 is such a joy to drive on the track, you get to experience its amazing chassis in ways people who baby them never will. Its a shame every S2000 owner doesn't track. With just a few mods like coilovers, square wheels/tires, and aero it becomes a real weapon.
@aboutthecurves
@aboutthecurves 2 жыл бұрын
As I get older I also prefer to experience my cars in their purest form. Sure they don't get around as well as many newer cars but the charm and the fun is in running these things the way they were for me. My NSX still even runs on the original 15 and 16 fat five wheels it came on.

Having extensive seat time in pops 00 NSX back when new, I can say best mods we did? Weight. Reduction. Did 200 lbs worth. OG Bronze TE’s in stock sizes 16/17. A now unobtainium ARC 9 lb Ti exhaust. Odyssey battery, seat lowering cushions and Dali racing CAI. Woke that car the hell up! For your NA1 3.0 I’d do the JDM gears with that ltw flywheel and some lighter wheels.

Curious to hear how you compare the Evora GT to the 1st gen NSX. If I want the "NSX experience," but don't want to spend $100k for a 30yr old car, is the Evora GT the next best thing, or even better?

Similar weight, size, and with the first gen base evora, similar power. I would imagine the Evora would drive like a modernized NSX.

Manual steering by far the best for a driver's car. If you want maximum engagement and feel, it's you don't mind cranking it in the parking lot or during autocross. Even Porsche hydraulic and electric steering doesn't even come close.

Gearing and flywheel are the biggest disappointments I had with the car. If you can acquire the LSD from an NA2 that would be ideal. Even if your not tracking the corner exit is substantially improved. These mods pretty much make the car perfect mechanically.

As a fellow NSX owner in NorCal, beware of impact on smog compliance. My ‘93 with 124k miles had trouble passing smog. It’s mostly stock; 2 mods are a K&N FilterCharger kit on the intake side and a DC Sport exhaust header - both from prior owners. Can’t pinpoint exact cause of compliance challenges but other owners have opined the aftermarket header causes the exhaust gases to be cooler going into the CAT compared to OEM, and at lower temps the CAT doesn’t process the gases as well as it needs to. Getting things nice and hot helped pass smog.
@sbfd3s
@sbfd3s 2 жыл бұрын
@@koichihiura7617 Back when I used to work at a Porsche shop we had to get some of the older cars nice and hot before getting them smogged to pass. As the cats age they don't perform as well and need to be pretty hot to work. So we would need to tell our smog guy we were coming, drive fairly aggresively and he would pop in the sniffer right away to get them to pass. He could also swap in the stock headers every 2 years for smog if needed or get the NA2 headers

I saw ur channel and that you are American and I wanted to mention that we Always need to have God in our hearts, the truth in life which is in the original ORTHODOX christianity religion only. Not the other versions the majority follows in the US, it is the original and true form of christianity that Jesus taught us when he came to earth, and you can feel God through the holy sacraments after baptism, repentance-confession and holy communion in the orthodox christian church, something that completely changes your life and turns you into a happier person with a meaningful life and also saves you by strengthening your bond with God. I suggest you become an orthodox christian at an orthodox christian church near you, get baptised and receive the holy spirit and live a spiritual life (repentance- confession to the priest and holy communion). This is all God wants from us and through these sacraments we will be saved 💯 Spread the word and positivity and God Bless! I Wish you all the best with the car reviews

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why people modify these classics not only is the resale value more than likely going to go down because nobody wants others peoples projects but that car was built a certain way, because it was built in a particular era. why mess with it do you want to go faster? Buy a newer car most are faster than this but none feel the same way. Same for s2k’s
