Like another Classic winner, Ghostzapper, BTA went from being an off the pace sprinter to a horse who could carry his speed at 10 furlongs. Speed was not carrying at all this day at Churchill Downs.

I bet this horse when he first came from Europe in Chicago, and climbed the ladder with him-he was in high level claiming at one point sprinting-it wasn’t until they started stretching him out when he became a monster

Summer Squall was in perfect position early and did nothing, Twilight Agenda was in ideal stalking position and could not run by. No excuses, Black Tie Affair was the best

someone suggested Dance Smartly could have won this instead of the distaff and I believe it if they all ran the same race as I dont think she would have been so far back as the late runners here in such a slow early pace

In attendance for the coldest day in BC history was down betting California horses. ( Had $20 pla on Sheik Ala Abdu) BTA and hooking up the double in the last race, made the trip worth while, miserable up until then, couldn't see s**t...

Absolutely NOTHING "Masterful" about the ride Bailey gave this Horse...This Horse ran his NORMAL Race...Go to the lead and try to wire the field...Bailey did nothing special...Horse got the lead like he was supposed to do and Field let him Set the fractions

He sat chilly down the stretch, didnt ask for horse like most jockeys who panic when they see another creep up next to them. When those scared jockeys start asking for more early, then they have nothing left at the stretch and then say the horse was just tired. As a jockey, its knowing when to ask the horse at the right time. He should be credited for a good ride.

Armchair ride maybe.. but speed did nothing all day, Bertrando hanging on for clear 2nd, was brilliant. It rained like hell for 2 days prior, ( I was there) you have to wait a long time at Churchill, the stretch is super long...❤️🙏👉🇺🇸

Soft soft fractions. Easy win for blak tie affair. No pace at all. In previous year classic it was 3/ 4 mile in 1.09 here it was a pedestrian 1.12

So what does "soft fraction' by the race leader mean? No other horses challenged him. It is an open field, anyone is welcome to run faster and push the pace. Not sure what is there to complain.
