Such a highly underrated movie! Some say that 'Days of Thunder' is basically 'Top Gun' on asphalt and there ain't nothing wrong with that! I wouldn't mind seeing a Days of Thunder sequel since Top Gun has a sequel as well.

After this movie came out Tom Cruise bought Robert Duvall a horse and he kept it on a horse farm where my mom worked. So my mom took care of Robert Duvall's horse. Which i think is pretty cool.

It’s wild I used to spot them as a kid. Ones like at the beginning when rowdy tim and harry are talking before cole test drive his car. And he answered questions that nobody asked lol. And the different cut scenes. Several to name but yeah as a young kid I spotted this stuff. Love this movie. Top five for sure.

I moved to Daytona a few years after the movie came out and I went to the bar where they filmed the scene with cruise and Duval and it was a dump!! Nothing like what you seen in the movie!! But I did get a job at Daytona speedway and that was a dream come true for me!

Dale Jr talked about this movie in his podcast, many of the story lines are based on real events, some involving Dale Sr. The barn where Harry built the car is still standing on Morrison Plantation Rd in Mooresville, NC and the Piece of property on Lake Norman with the gazebo where Rowdy talks bout building his $10M lake house still has not had a home built on it.

I think the current generation of filmmakers and script writers need to watch this and pay particular attention to what Jerry Bruckheimer says at the end, about the movie being about the story and making the audience fall in love with characters. Maybe then, movies will be good again.

Watch this classic film movie at movie theater time came out back then. Still enjoy more and more each year. Time put on steelbox Collection. Fans can enjoy on dvd and blueray DVD and 4 K box unit. Thank You. Why I enjoy listen and watching NASCAR Racing since my early childhood days. Age 9 my dad and uncle family go racing on Labor Day weekend. Thank You. Nice look back great memories NASCAR Racing though years.

One of my favorite movies of all time. Wish they'd make a new NASCAR movie although it would probably be more of a Lifetime Movie today. Not as gritty as it once was. Always thought the scene where Harry Hogge is "talking" to the car frame was funny. I always think "you mean you'll build it to the same specs as EVERY OTHER CAR on the track!" 😂

Problem with doing a modern take of days of thunder, is a lot of the newer drivers are kids of very rich people given the job for sponsor reasons. You do have exceptions of course. Shit the bush brothers would be good to have something based on them, they're wild, or we're at least.

I bought a racing sim earlier this year playing PC2,ACC,F1 2019 and recently Nascar Heat 4 and when i race Nascar flying round esp Daytona all cockpit mode (obviously) at 205 mph surrounded middle lane just reminds me of this movie.

it sucks now. NASCAR forgot about the blue collar fans that made them rich after Earnhardt Sr. died. Brian France took over from his dad too, I don't think he comes from the same back ground as his daddy and granddaddy. most likely a silver spoon fed, spoiled little shit who wants the sport to appeal more to the wine drinking do gooders than the blue collar, beer drinking working man that helped make this sport what it is. plus the rules have changed drastically, the race car duels of the past will never be that way again...

one of the most EARLY 90s things ive ever scene.... . just before the "wave plastic cups" were invented..... just before everyone wore nylon jackets..... that where purple, pink, and green..... . i was born in 94..... but grew up poor.... in NE montana so we were 5 to 10 years behind everything (and still are 5 to 10 years behind the "fad" of today) . so that purple pink green nylon jacket was MY THING back in 4th or 5th grade!!!!!

Matt Beeman and Tom cruise met Richmond prior to his death and has mentioned that he based his acting off of Richmond. Cruise is even quoted to have said on set that he was there to play Richmond. Some scenes were based off other drivers. The scene with the rental cars was based off of an incident with Earnhardt Sr and bill Elliot. The meeting with Nascar about them beating and banging was based off a real meeting with rusty Wallace and Dale Sr and Bill France.

That'd be pretty cool to see. Possibly a story where Cole assumes Rowdy's role as a mentor/rival to a young and cocky upstart who threatens to take his ride? It'd certainly work with NASCAR's push for young talent in the 2010s.
