This car brings back a lot of memories for me, personally. My dad and stepmom had a 1991 Stealth R/T in this same color. It was a head-turner everywhere they went for several years after they got it. I remember when I was 10, riding in the backseat of it on a 500 mile trip from St. Louis to Talladega, Alabama for a NASCAR race in 1993. One of the main reasons why they chose the Stealth over it's competitors is because it had more front seat legroom than the others. My dad is 6'2" with long legs, so he almost has to try on cars before he buys one. Unfortunately, Mother Nature was the cause of the car's demise when it was totaled in a tornado which caused all of the glass to be broken on the car.

Kyle, the thing I love most about your reviews is that you are so objective and impartial to every vehicle you review. You let the viewer form their own opinion about the car rather than trying to tell the viewer what you "think" about the car. You are oft-imitated but never duplicated! Keep up the good work, Kyle.

I have owned two of these cars. Everyone who is claiming that they cost a lot to own has either owned one that was not well cared for or has no clue what they are talking about. The first Stealth I owned I bought used and put 250,000 km (155,000 miles) on it over a span of about 7-8 years and other than routine maintenance and a broken motor mount I never had to really spend much on fixing it. Got good money for when I sold it too. The one I currently own I also bought used with about 120,000 km on it. Now it has just over 260,000 km on the odometer and I have never had to fix anything on it - not a single thing. Other than worn seat leather the car still looks new. The factory paint is nothing short of amazing as it stands up well for years, my 1993 still has excellent-looking paint with no de-laminating, crazing, or fading. Absolutely everything still works perfectly and it does not even suffer from the infamous lifter tick that is so common with the 6G72 engine (which you can clearly hear in this video featuring a low-mile car). Second gear synchros are starting to get a bit worn is about my only complaint. This car still turns heads because it is a bit unusual and the styling has held up well compared to many other cars of the era. Compared to modern vehicles the performance is not exactly blistering any more but it is still plenty fast enough. For longer trips the GT design really stands out. It is super-comfortable and eats large numbers of highway miles with ease. When this one dies I will probably look around for another one. A VR-4 Spyder would be really nice. Thanks Saabkyle04 for your video on a car that has always held a special place in my heart.

I still remember test driving this car when I was 16 years old in 1992. I wasn't allowed to drive it but got to ride along in the passenger seat. The Salesman, ripped around the streets and it was a rush. Sadly was not my first ride, I went with the VW GTI. But I always loved the Dodge Stealth.

Traded in my Corvette for it..YES, I traded in a Vette for it!...and never looked back!!👍 Out is the 40+ vehicles I’ve owned over the past 25yrs, this is the ONE car I wish I would’ve kept. 80mph in 3rd gear pushing about 4K RPMs & you still had 2 more gears to go!! 🏎🏎 The AWD & AWS made it rude like on rails. 🎢 Also in this car I achieved the fastest I’ve ever driven a car (before I kinda freaked out 😂)... 155mph!😍🥰

@@fordmanx3 Well, all TT 3S are AWD. But anyway, this car's engine is mounted transverselly, so the only options were for it to be FWD/AWD. Why transverse? The answer is simple: to reduce costs. This engine belongs to the 6G platform that came all the way from the mid-to-late 80's and it would've been too expensive to develop another V6 powertrain or to mount it longitudinally. Also, going for FWD meant cheaper entry models. I find it curious, though, that Mitsubishi decided to keep the AWD layout in JDM NA GTOs...
