from 1983-92 it was the flxible metro series as a 40102 6t or 40096,6t with several choices 6v92 TA or 8v71 Detroit diesel engines with the v730 or v731 Allisonautomatic transmissions they are still have the grummanflxible 870 spirit in the flxible metro buses

they first went into service in new york city in 1980.1984, new york city transit had to remove them from service in 1984 because they could not take the bad roads. I remember we has to use buses from out of state to fill the gap.Plastic boxes
