Remittance Man had all the tools to become one of the best chasers of all time, high causing speed, unbelieveble jumper. I believe if Richard Dunwoody had ridden him in the King George, he would have won.

That was a real golden era for Francois Doumen, when he won the King George with Nupsala, The Fellow, Val d'Alene and First Gold. It's a shame we don't see any French-trained horses come over for big jump racing prizes these days.

I don't think Graham Goode should have uttered the words "In disgrace after falling three out" at 6:27! - Dessie had given another bold account of himself at the age of 12 and still had his brilliant career record behind him whatever the outcome here!!

Appalling ill thought out commentary. At no time in his career did Dessie disgrace himself. Veteran Dessie would have given the very best of these a stone & a beating at his best around here.

He fell in a hurdle race,there at Kempton.Then won the King George.I was there.Very Promising won the first race with Jonjo O Neil riding for Mrs M Rimell.Got trampled to death.Never again on a Boxing Day.Telly.

If you look, Dessie was staying on going to the 3rd last if he hadn't of tipped up, he would of ran on maybe got a place. No disgrace at all in falling. He took them all on over all distances over all going, what horse would do that nowadays ???
