*As I got older, I began to really appreciate his later work. Dangerous, History, Blood On The Dance Floor and finally for me, Invincible. Back in 1991 everyone I was around seemed to like the first half, but the panther dance made them uncomfortable. I was the only voice in my circle who was saying it was actually brilliant. Everywhere you turned, magazines, newspapers, radio, TV, social gatherings, it was people saying how sexual, odd, violent, weird, and disturbing the panther dance was. I wish I had known a few people who enjoyed it as it was a very lonely and unsettling time to be an MJ fan. Thankfully, that would greatly change over the course of the Dangerous era. Until, that is, it all came crashing down with the allegations.

That ending is perhaps greatest dance sequence in a music video ever! Top-notch movements, graceful yet fierce, like watching a Swan and Panther at the same time. GNR's follow up to the biggest rock album of the 80's Appetite for Destruction. Followed by a 3 year world tour 2 albums released on the same day. This is when Rock was still outselling rap so if Michael Jackson was #1 the second biggest star at the time was Axl Rose. You hit the nail on the head, there are "layers" in meanings to things and how he expressed himself and particularly in that video he was expressing his anger towards police brutality, bigotry, and prejudice but he does it in a way of dance because dancing is the "method" he chose to express himself in (hence the aggressive dancing, yelling, ripping his shirt apart, and smashing windows) a lot of racially charged things occurred in 1991 and he was letting out his anger. People for some reason like to put their opinion onto things before looking at a situation from all angles. As far as the video being "sexual", I mean it wasn't that sexual in my personal opinion, not enough to where it should be alarming or anything, if people have a problem with children viewing it then don't let them watch it. They need to GET OVER IT.

It appears MJ's facial structure changed sometime in 1991. At the Academy awards with Madonna he looks similar to his appearance in the Bad era, although his skin is lighter and his nose thinner. When he filmed his video for "Black and White" his jawline looks wider and his face more square. Everyone comments on his nose but the facial surgery is what most radically transformed his appearance.

Its the longer hair, the very pale caked make up. Make up wasn’t as good those days and it looked very matte and unnatural, gave him a mannequin appearance.

That's because he did change that year during the second half of 1991 is when he went with the lighter shade of makeup further work done to his nose his hairstyle but his face does look different as well

I think early 1991 was when he began lightening the dark patches of skin with the bleaching cream to save messing around with matching the dark and light shades of skin with make up. I can't blame him for doing it, but I think being transparent about it would have saved him the media speculation about his changes.

It is really interesting to see his transition from Bad Era to Dangeroud Era in a year. Also Dangerous is my favorite album of all time and i think Dangerous Era more glorious from Bad Era in the beginning it could of sold more than the Bad, it was selling really fast but 93 happened because of that Dangerous tour is his shortest solo tour and he didn't even had concerts in America also public perception changed against him
