I remember that commercial that says "No one every says, 'I want to be a junkie when I grow up.'" I had a write a paper about how I would use math in my future career, and this commercial came on when I was doing my homework. I had an idea... which got me in trouble both at school and home. Not my finest moment.

Thank you so much for some of these local Buffalo jingles! I haven't heard some of these since the late 80s. So many of these have been stored in my brain for over 30 years. The Gary's Pools and Leisure was a good one that I've been looking for. Had that exact WIVB commercial block on one of my old cartoon tapes.

the tree pickle company (dissolved in 1982 - by the time this commercial aired, tree was a label owned by pilgrim farms of indiana) started in walden, new york and kept all of its operations in new york state. they even grew their cucumbers there. it never had anything to do with croswell, michigan. putting croswell in the commercial like that doesn't make any sense.

3:17 and 18:05 this may be the best example of why so many young girls and women struggled with eating disorders in the 90s and early 2000’s. it’s subtle, but the differences are there. this is one aspect of advertising i’m glad we’ve mostly done away with.

Got any station/region specific commercials? Still looking for this one, aired around 1991 or so (possibly in the summer months), I wanna guess it was either channel 5 or 9. I was living in the Southern California high desert area (apple valley), cable was required to get network TV (that sucked big time), but anyway, the commercial was probably regarding weather broadcasts on channel 5 or 9, like a friendly advertisement. It had this man talking to a cartoon sun wearing sunglasses, I think the song was "mister golden sun" similar to the one they sang on Barney... but then the song ends with ♫ ♬ something-something on channel niiiine (or fiiiive) ♫ ♬, finally ending with dancing palm trees like the ones you see in super mario bros 3, world 2 desert land..... does ANYONE remember this?
