The more I watch commercials from the 90s the more I'm appreciative of the fact that the frenzy of social media and technology wasn't a thing yet. Which gave us more time to live in that moment. Whether it was a movie, TV, music, or playing outside. Sure the world was crazy and had its own issues. But at least we weren't constantly barraged with it. You had to watch the news and read the newspaper for that stuff.

While true, this was already SIGNIFICANTLY disintegrating in the 90's thanks to the ridiculously rapid rise of the internet & cell phones. The 1980's were the last era mostly truly untouched by instantaneous global tech & communication integration (aka, when the fastest ways of international communication were the extremely limited capabilities of existing satellites and the handful of undersea pre-fiber optic & thus slow & unreliable as all shit copper cables).

@@Cooe. I believe you👍I know I was born in 1988, but I was exposed from stuff from 80s in the early 90s and I can tell the quality is good from that time frame
@berserk1437

@@Cooe. the 80s were global and interconnected though. Japan was in the midst of an economic bubble and exporting their culture worldwide. This was when the first beepers and cellphones started to appear. MTV was airing music videos which were mostly produced in Europe. While instantaneous communication was just out of reach home media like videotape and laserdisc began to display the world in people's homes. At the same time cable TV began to really proliferate. If you've seen the movie "Videodrome" from 1983 it encapsulates the feeling of the time. I think the 60s is more when you're thinking of, back when international phone calls sounded like you were underwater and sound and video recording equipment were only used by production studios and computers could fill a 3 car garage.

Graduated High School in 1993. I remember Crystal Pepsi. It came out at the same time as Miller Clear and Zima. Most of these commercials I don't remember because I was a busy guy with prepping for HS graduation, being on the baseball team, and a part time job. Didn't leave much time for TV. Things seemed a bit more carefree back then.

Why was the 90's seem so chill? My life in that era seemed to be not much of all these crazy-ness that's going on today. Maybe because I was a kid and didn't care much about the adult stuff? I really wish I can live through the 90's but still have all my memories up til now. Not to go "sports almanac" mode like that movie but just to live through the era again for a nostalgia ride.

Judging others is in your (females) nature, and we need to bring this type of 'misogyny' back to advertising. Its important to do so, before all Men go their own way.
