My Dad and his friend operated a surveying business in Nova Scotia. They would travel across the province in Dad's friend's Volvos. One was a 700-series wagon, and one was a 900-series. They were workhorses, and I believe both of them had over 300,000 km on them!

in early 1992, the local Volvo dealer offered me a leftover '91 940 Turbo for 23K (which was exactly my budget). As a 25 year old at the time, I was very aware that this did not fit my young single image, but I always had a soft spot for Volvos since the 1976 Volvo 242 DL that I owned when I was 18. If they offered me a black or dark green one, I would have taken it. The only color choice was white, and so I didn't. If it was an SE, I would have had trouble resisting even a white one.

I think the 940 seats are more comfortable than the 850.

Nice car but the live rear axle provided better handling than the IRS.
