@Jaytheozzi yeah it is a nice grinder, my dad's work was actually gonna throw it in the bin! It was perfectly working and everything, just all the new kids there had no idea what it was or how to use it! That's how we got it for nothing.

mine had the seat replaced but the valve was not closing all the way so i had to grind the stem and lap the valve. It regained around 20psi so the engine ran 10x better after.

@Jivemaster2005 I did lightly hone it, I tried to show at 4:31 but the camera didn't pick it up. plus I had to re-use the original rings which were worn in already. thanks for commenting.

@30GB yeah with most of these L-heads they will almost always need a stem grind because they are set very close from factory, plus wear. I usually go for around 0.25mm or 0.10" and they sure do run much better after.

I love the valve grinding bro, you did a great job. I would like to know what make and model your valve grinding machine is. I would love to find one.

@nick89gm If yours has funny bolts, it must be different to mine. This big end has standard 6 sided (hex) bolts with a locking plate (which I was bending away with the screwdriver at 3:09) try and use a star socket on yours if they are not hex bolts. I forgot what size mine were, sorry. Good luck mate and thanks for watching.

No honing of the cylinder bore? the piston rings might harden and never "break" in

what did you use to clean the engine with ? parafin?

Hi i have old 12.5 Briggs with side plate Gov that seems ok and smooth running and loose when idle throttle then tight at full throttle BUT i can only get 1/2 power and push throttle further and no change. So does this mean the govt arm has slipped a little in that clamp OR the govt spring needs adj- and how? If i move the Gov arm myself, i get full power so its not moving far enough through that spring? thanks

Use a harmonic balancer puller and grade 8 bolt to pull the flywheel so you don't weaken it or untrue your crank

You mite need to bore it out and put a new piston in has to much wear on it
