I bought a set of the fuel line disconnect tools at oreileys. 6 different sizes for like 6 dollars. Its quick and alot easier than a pick.

Could you explain more about the check valve thing, I understand it keeps from filling the other tank. However, my issue is finding that exact piece or the metal circular retaining clip that goes inside it that attaches to the fuel line. Mine was mangled to the point of no return and the regular finger looking retaining clip does not fit.

The only way to find that inline checkvalve is to find one on another truck, as they’re obsolete now. Dorman sells the retaining clips in the Help! section, Dorman 800-017.

I just bought a new spectra pump will I need to reuse the check valve?

Those sending units have a little circuit board on the inside. A needle drags against the board for your tank level. You can restore the circuit board by rubbing it with fine steel wool. Otherwise the circuit board is expensive, i found an aftermarket one on Ebay

In my experience it was effectively a Rheostat Very simple setup though

Just curious, if it was possible to put the fuel line on the pump backwards when you reinstall it would the truck still turn on?

When u put the new fuel pump on did u replace the check valve or just connect without check valve

Without Once a new pump is installed, the one in the video is redundant/unnecessary

I just got me an f350 that’s been sitting for years . I’m replacing the pump and the tank but the fuel line from the pump to the filter is broken off inside . I’ve tried taking it out with my quick disconnect but no luck. Now I’m looking at replacing the lines . No luck finding the lines anywhere . Would you suggest anything ?

So your hard line is broken? The vertical line I mean? I have AN style PTFE size -6 fittings and stainless Braided PTFE lines in 3/8” and no issues

A lot of places have it labeled as a Mid Ship tank Generally speaking pay extra up front and get a good product to begin with I like Bosch myself

I took the teeth parts out of the hose will it hold in place without it

Negative. The teeth act as a wedge to make the line stay in place.

@@hemilife83tollonjr22 You either need a check valve or a new fuel pump for the tank that is getting filled up. The terrible part is, the pump can be fine but the valve inside can go bad (I suggest replacing it with a quality part such as a Bosch unit (Advance Auto always has a coupon code. I think right now it is D20) and be done.

You can remove it once the pump is replaced, and keep it as a quick fix.

My 94 f250 diesel the front tank will pull fuel from rear tank. It acts like it's starving for fuel and occasionally and fuel filter light will come on and it will die??

Sounds like the fuel selector valve is getting stuck halfway Had that happen on my truck, resulting in me going to a 38gal rear tank and being done with the dual tank setup as a drive ability feature; Now it is getting redone as a 19gal auxiliary fuel tank in addition to the 38gal

@@TheFSeries first diesel truck I've owned. I'm learning as I go and youtube channels like yours are helping me. The shops around here act like 1994 is taboo. They cringed at me when I try to get them to work on it. One place told me they would have to send it out. Love my truck it drives like it's new. Came out of Texas and no rust, a couple of small dings gives it character.

Is that check valve called something else? What are symptoms if gone bad i can blow air both directions on mine
