Good point. I feel that racing is more popular here because there are far more race tracks around than what I am used to in Canada. Several of them are world famous too. Within 3 hours, I can get to Fuji Speedway, Tsukuba, and Ebisu, not to mention a half dozen other smaller tracks.

You always want what you don't have. People in Japan will easily throw away a RX-7 because it's too old, and they'll do all they can to keep a Dodge Van on the road ... Hell, only in the last week I spotted a Renault 25 Turbo, a Peugeot 504 and a Citroën CX in Tokyo, they were all in perfect condition, the owner of the Renault even kept the original french plates on the front. Meanwhile, the average French would think these cars are worthless and many would send them to the junkyard with no hesitation.

Engine damper takes the side load caused by torque and some another forces. It is not for making engine more smooth. :-) Direct drive & electric drive of the radiator fan are giving a great field for discussions. My L200 (Triton/Strada) has a direct drive fan. Both Subarus - electric. In two words. Direct drive is more reliable & don't need any additional energy & bearings. Electric is ECU-(or relay)-controlled, more efficient & don't cool engine down when it is cold. Why am I writing this down? Have no idea. Maybe, someone don't know it. :-)

If you waited for the car to cool down before you checked the coolant through the rad cap, it wouldn't splash up :P if its hot just check the coolant reservoir.. if you not just wait for it to cool down and check both.

20K is not your total, just the winning bid. Prepare to "pay through the nose" in the near future. BTW 20k is not cheap for a used Japanese car that is 15 years old, regardless of condition.

They are old enough if they are from 1992 or older. The 1990 came here the same time it was available in Japan. It was also available with an automatic here, not sure about Japan.

Check out a 180sx ; Silvia ; MR2 ; Soarer ; or an FC Rx7, all of those should be close to that range. I'd love to import a 180sx , sell the SR20 in the states and swap in an RB from Japan.

The hood is real carbon fiber... the headlight covers did have wrap on them. I have since replaced the headlight covers.
