1993 and 2001 Suzuki Quadrunners, Mouse Damaged and Unused for Years!

Bought these 2 Suzuki Quadrunnner 250 4x4 ATVs last weekend for $1500. It appears that both had their wire harnesses damaged by mice and once they did not run, the gasoline went stale and ruined the carburetors. A quick inventory indicated that all the parts necessary to put them back together were included with the sale. I also got 2 owner manuals, ignition keys, and NYS registrations. Given that the carburetor was installed on the 1993, that is where we began. The engine seemed sound, and with some gasoline and starting fluid is started right up. There were no bad sounds or smoke. As told by the last owner, the carb seemed to run rich... Stay tuned, I'm thinking PZ30 with a cable choke!

I have a 02 AC 300 with the same engine been the most reliable bike ever. Not fast but always gets the job done and always maks it home. Simple is always better...

One more thing before I go good luck with.& on your projects with those Suzuki 250cc engines. I add some lacus stopleak into A quart of motor to add in with the engine case oil to.

Okay man here's how you can clean them all up.& rebuild those macoonie carburetors to get A one gallon carburetor dipping can of parts.& carburetor cleaning solution to for soaking them in. After taking out the jet screws.& mainjets.& pilot jets. Next find some tourche head cleaning tips wire cleaners.,or wal-mart sale carburetor cleaning brushes as kits. Then you just need some thin fine wire for running down into the port holes to check to see if there all clear.& open. Next lightly blow air with A blow gun air nozzle through the holes.& fuel line inlets such as fuel in.& intake air breather to. They should free flow. Through everything inside of the carburetors if their not clogged up.& free flowing properly. The first thing to do is check the settings on all of the adjustment screws then write all down on paper to have it on standby.

Probably the only video I found with the same model I have. Worked fine and started with battery, but then I charged the battery and now no neutral light. I changed the battery and checked both fuses under the battery cover, but not sure where to go from there. Can't pull start it either, however it might have old gas. I'd just at least like to get a neutral light first.

I'd add some Marvel mystery oil blended.& mixed with some octane booster gumout for peak output for no sprakknocks later down the road to aswell. I also would recommend to use ethonal free fuels. Their called true FUEL just for things like that.& chainsaws.& 2 cycle boat motors.& etc.

The problem with the Chinese clone carburetors is the opening to the air box as much wider than the original carburetor if you can 3D print something to make the throat skinnier the Chinese car would probably work just fine I used my Chinese carb to rebuild the original carburetor that was on my four-wheeler it turns out that it worked great!

Harvey how are ya? Honda makes a spray for the wiring in their cars. It's a pepper type spray. Should be easy to make your own recipe. CV carbs are a pain but the factory one on my Quadrunner worked flawlessly for a long time. Take care DD

The Clone carburetor will not work on their I've tried it several times it will only run with the OEM

Check the vacuum line that goes from the carb to the fuel pump. The mice got into mine and chewed through the line and it wouldn't pump any gas

I hope that this will help you as much as possible to man on them both. The parts are interchangeable to A point. You'll just half to look them over really good part for part.& peice for peice is basically all. Then swap them over if their the same.

If you could get it to work with the Honda 300 EX carb that would be an awesome video. I have basically the same engine in my AC 300 that I was gonna put a PZ30 on but would love to see if the Honda Carb would work.

You can get the new 250 carburetor for the Arctic Cat they call them red carburetor and green carburetor I guess they have a red four-wheeler and a green four-wheeler I don't know what the difference is other than one's two-wheel drive and one's four-wheel drive but anyways you might be able to get one of those new carburetors for them to work on one of those I didn't try it I sent it to 250 I don't see why it wouldn't work?

The Red is 2x4 the Green is 4x4. 250 /300 use the same parts pretty much but they stopped using Suzuki motors when they got bought out. Worst thing that happened to AC

I'll use one of your words to describe those carbs, fussy. I got my lesson on the same machine the other day with a carb that acted lean. Between the carb, those shift cables that have to be adjusted just right when worn, and the odd ball fuel pump under the left front fender, they seem to have too many strikes against them from the factory. I only use my winch for plowing but when you set up your pick up box correctly, you can winch yourself up the ramps if it's not running. Otherwise, how about a project where you mount a winch in the nose of the box and put a battery in a marine case so you can get dead machines on the truck without breaking your back? We've got that set up in the shop truck just for self preservation. Keep em rolling Harvey.
