Jumps were not a common thing in the UK back in the early 90's. Not like in the States and othe replaces now

Wasn't really a cheater motor as someone had stated, he didn't gain any speed advantage. If memory serves me, it was the endbell that wasn't registered to run in combination with the motor can, Martin from Tanaplan motors (Ben's motor sponsor) lobbied a protest to no avail, rumor has it, kevin moore had something to do with Ben's motor DQ lol. But it was a difficult track in terms of bumps and ruts in so many places, track maintenance was pretty much non existent but the challenge was the same for everyone.

@@joes2686yeah I think it was fact , more than just a rumour that Kevin informed scrutineering of the motor endcan swap. Shame some sort of sportsman rule couldn't come into play. Ben gained no advantage, harsh but rules are rules I guess. Ben gained respect , Kevin lost respect. I had many many good races with these 2 guys.

I raced for TRF at this event, a 211x and topforce. The 411x prototype was only produced weeks before this competition. So I choose to run the topforce. Tamiya's weakness in 1993 was suspension. In the first week practice I was comfortably running in the top ten but as the track got bumpy it got harder to maintain competitive. Racing for Tamiya was a pleasure and I enjoyed every second of it.
