Mazda just broke the Toyota's 1:33.8 lap record by doing a 1:33.398. Looks like prototypes in an American racing series finally caught up to their past speed records, it only took 26 years.

meanwhile the FIA/ACO are going through another rebuild of the prototype class due to cost. For the 5th time. Luckily this time they're taking the DPi from IMSA and making a simple conversion to their rules possible with the new LMDh category. Hypercar was going to be yet another insane attempt at cutting edge cars that cost too damn much...
