People like to make fun of this Bills team for losing 4 straight Super Bowls, but this was just another of many examples of how tough that team really was. No Jim Kelly for this game. Couldn't get the offense going, yet still found a way to get an ugly win. I loved that team.

That Bills team of the late 80's - early 90's will always be one of the greatest NFL teams ever assembled in my opinion. It's not easy for teams nowadays to win back-to-back conference championships, let alone four straight. Playing in the super bowl four consecutive seasons is a monumental achievement that I think will never be duplicated again. I miss early 90's NFL.

Those who down the Bills really don't know much about the game. People talk like winning Super Bowls is easy and everyone should do it. Jim Kelly himself said this very same season, I WANT TO WIN A SUPER BOWL BUT NOT EVERYONE CAN. A team that made it all the way to the Super Bowl is a good team and a team to go to the Super Bowl 4 straight years is awesome. I listen to former players and coaches who played against them. They all say the Bills were incredible. One of them was Troy Aikman and his team beat them badly 2 straight years. Those are the people I listen to because they know how it is because they played, coached or did both in the NFL

Eagles didn't have Cunningham and Barnett either

They were a great team, and yes, ESPECIALLY since free agency had just started in March of the year this game was played, it's a particularly impressive feat. That team's success was built from the ground up, and without free agent stars "ring" shopping back then.

@@montman1498 I very often read this kind of remark, that the sport was much more real at the time, more passionate, more pure compared to today, whether in nascar or in the NFL! but isn't it rather nostalgia?
@E180TEKNO2 жыл бұрын
for NASCAR, I must admit that I am totally of the same opinion as you when I compare nascar from the 90s and nascar after 2010 the observation is edifying, no one in the stands and almost impossible to identify with a driver or a vehicle as was the case in the 90s where each car had its unique paint scheme and compare to today does not change at each race it was real paint today there are limit stickers applied to the car and even the cars either nothing to see olsmobil montecarlo lumina thunderbird disappeared

The 1993 Eagles were decimated by injuries more than any team I can ever recall in a single season, but they played hard every week.

Do you or anyone else have the 1990 Eagles at Bills game aka the birth of the K-Gun? The one where Kelly shredded that damn good Eagles D and where Cunningham escaped Bruce and threw a 100 yard td?

This Bills win started their last Super Bowl run. The Bills never lost a game until the Super Bowl, a Super Bowl they led at halftime. This team was always close, but no cigar.
@dyates63807 ай бұрын
Being from Buffalo, I lived every second of those games. Yes, the last SB for them, this year, they led at halftime, and that was the one we all KNEW they'd win. We knew it. LOL. Not as heart breaking as the "wide right", but a close second.

For the kids watching this, it's difficult to describe to you how much kickers sucked in the early 90s (and before). It's like a whole different position now.

If I was a NFL running back and I thought I was as tuff as anyone. And I rarely got injured I would insist to run kickoffs back play on kickoff coverage teams.and I guess to play on punt coverage. Besides Walker who else has done that.on his last year in the NFL 1997 he ran back on kickoff return 1241 yards .that's his last year ! And don't even mention how good of a reciever he is

It's so strange watching these games from thirty years ago. Now the game seems SO much different. I can't say I don't like it any more, as I still watch it, but it's NICE seeing these games without all the political and social statements in them from both the league and the commercials. Football, not "woke" lecturing.

Matt Bahr was released the day after this game and it looked like that would be the end of his career because he was just awful that season - yet amazingly he got picked up by Parcells and the Patriots the very next day and finished the season with them and would kick for 2 more years. And to top it off, after he retired the guy who replaced him was Adam Vinatieri.
@hezamachine2 жыл бұрын
He replaced Scott Sisson. He had a 53.8% kicking percentage.
