Steve DeBerg was one tough SOB - dude was in his 40s by this time, getting the crap kicked out of him on almost every play, was playing on a injury-riddled team that he had only even been on for a few weeks after they picked him up off the scrap heap, and the guy just battled and battled out there in a lost cause.

What a great team the Bills were then I just wish they could have won one Super Bowl
@aldfjak Жыл бұрын
dude the dolphins were missing half their defense and Marino so don't act like the bills were some juggernaut. the dolphins were a superior team this year if not for injuries. the phins kicked the bills ass earlier in the year and were 9-2 at one point before the injuries started to pile up also the reason the bills didn't win a super bowl was the NFC was superior in this era and had better coaching pure and simple. the bills had a stacked team which would have never been possible with a salary cap in place. same for the cowboys, 49ers and washington teams of that time. but also Marv Levy was a inferior coach with an inferior staff compared to what the NFC teams had. that was the difference. the bills were uber talented especially in 90 and 91 and should have won atleast 2 super bowls if not for their poor coaching, the K-gun was a disaster and turned the ball over way too much. Jim Kelly threw an absurd amount of INT's. he threw 19 in 91 and 18 in '92, and was worse in the super bowls, he threw 2 picks in 7 attempts vs. dallas lol and 4 picks vs. WASH. . even Marino threw less then that and he was a gunslinger.

@@aldfjakThe Buffalo Bills owned the Miami Dolphins during this era and still do. The reason the Bills lost the Super Bowls wasn’t due to Marv Levy. It was due to their line play on both sides of the ball and a missed field goal. Dan Marino and the Miami Dolphins were never going to reach or let alone win a Super Bowl, even if they beat the Bills. Dan Marino was also a turnover machine in the bigger games and took more sacks. Jim Kelly threw more picks in the cold winds, freezing rain, and ice cold snow in a different era than today. Besides, Marino threw 17, 21 and 23 INTS in 84-86. Jim threw three more INTs than Dan in 1992 and had one less TD. Salary cap? Oh, like that ever stopped Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Big Ben, or even the NFL’s new golden boy Patrick Mahomes. Elite players just find away with a little help from their friends. The 1995 Buffalo Bills were hurt by injuries and then had off the field stuff like the 1993 Miami Dolphins and the Bills still took the East from Miami and then kicked their tales in the playoffs again. The Dallas Cowboys were a product of the Minnesota trade and San Francisco gifting them Charles Haley. Jimmy Johnson was vastly overrated. Jimmy Johnson went to the Miami Dolphins and in four years won zero East titles and lost three straight playoff games 37-3, 38-3 and 62-7. Jimmy’s QB was the great Dan Marino. Jimmy does not belong in the HOF. Now, onto my opinions about the Miami Dolphins. Dan Marino went to the wrong franchise. The Miami Dolphins never tried to find him a great RB. They found him average RBs. You do realize that when Marino went to the Dolphins they hadn’t had a 1K since 1978. Don Shula was past his prime on some things. Don Shula kept DC Tom Olivadotti around for nearly a decade. Dan Marino was good enough for 8-10 wins a year with his arm, but that’s not going to get any team to the Super Bowl. John Elway won two rings when he had a RB and the NFC had beatable teams. It’s not like Elway beat the 1992-1995 Dallas Cowboys. All the best.

Is WXIA the Atlanta affiliate? I know that was a CBS Doubleheader Day so NBC affiliates could only air 1 game and NBC likely wouldn't give Atlanta a 1:00 game at the same time as a Falcons game as they were in DC in a 1:00 game as well. Same thing where I'm at in Minnesota where our NBC affiliate got Chargers-Chiefs late instead of an early game with the Vikings playing the Packers in Milwaukee.
@juliansmith43524 жыл бұрын
@@MNsportsnut Yes WXIA is a NBC affiliate in Atlanta seeing those highlights during their halftime report plus on ESPN NFL primetime at 7pm just made it completely worst cause the 4pm game on CBS San Francisco beating the Lions at home by the score of 55-17 was a laugher watching the Chargers chiefs from arrowhead stadium wasn't bad it going down to the wire 23-17
