This was my first ever Phillies game ! Although I have no memory of it. My mom was about 4 months pregnant with me. She said every time the Phillies got a hit she would feel me kick

Just a great pitcher's duel. Schilling was awesome, but Guzman was no slouch himself on this night.

this is where the phillies manager at the time Jim Fregosi answered the question and the question is "Will you stick with Schilling until his arm falls off?" his answer will be "most likely"

People can say what they want about Schilling being a bad teammate in this series (and they do) but he was the only guy on their team who could get anyone out. Toronto scored 45 runs in the series including this game where they got 0. So he threw a shutout against a lineup that averaged 9 runs per game in the other five games.

Curt Schilling was able to do things no pitcher in today's game can do.

Curt Schilling threw 147 pitches in this game. Could a pitcher do that today?

Isn’t it amazing how the MORE money they make, the LESS they’re expected to do? I know to some I sound like a “boomer” and honestly I consider that a COMPLIMENT!! Both of my parents were actual baby boomers and I’m GRATEFUL I was raised by boomers. My father is going to be 65 in November, my mother is dead as she passed away from undiagnosed (diagnosed VERY VERY LATE in fact she died less than 6 weeks after finding out about it because she ignored it for YEARS) pancreatic cancer at 60 years old, she would’ve been 66 this year, my older sister is 42, my younger sister is 36 and I’m an almost 40 year old fully disabled combat veteran. Not trying to give my entire life story, I just point it out to say….yes I know by KZbin years I’m “old” because apparently most of the people who use youtube are kids! When I say kids I’m referring to anyone under the age of 30 because as far as I’m concerned the overwhelming majority of anyone under the age of 30 are far too immature/entitled/lazy to have EARNED the right to be called/considered an Adult!! Back to your original question, it would honestly take a pitcher 2-3 starts to throw that many pitches!! I mean the fact that these kids nowadays only pitch 5 MAYBE 6 innings every 5th day while Making WAY WAY WAY MORE MONEY than guys who actually earned it (or as close as you can come because NO ONE is WORTH MILLIONS TO PLAY A KIDS GAME) I refuse to support baseball anymore for many reasons including their mistreatment of Curt Schilling. I grew up in Boston (5 miles from Fenway Park) and was borderline obsessed with the Sox (along with The B’s and Pats) growing up with my grandfather. When I was stationed in Turkey I even went and got the Sox “B” tattooed on my forearm (before I realized every douche bag Sox fan does that). After everything the MLB and specifically the Red Sox have done like the mistreatment of Curt Schilling because he dare to be a proud American and actually vote for President Trump. I mean I am an Avowed Atheist but I can still respect the man for sticking to his beliefs and not being ashamed to speak about them. Then ownership goes and sells a a piece of the team to that RACIST POS LeBigot James!!! The guy who HATES Boston, HATES Law Enforcement, HATES America, and especially HATES WHITE PEOPLE!! He doesn’t even hide it anymore because he knows most people are too scared to call him out for being A RACIST. Just like people won’t call him out for his ATTEMPT AT DOING HIS BEST JUICY SMOLLETT IMPRESSION after HE vandalized HIS OWN HOME and try to claim it was a racially motivated attack/crime. So I come back and watch old baseball games and reminisce about when baseball and the country as a whole was so much better than it is today!!

49:38 - Rickey Henderson got a "lotion" from some random lady and used it! LOL! These days that would not fly as it was probably some sort of HGH.

Games 3, 4 and 6 are very entertaining. Whereas, this game is so very dull. That said Schilling did the job he had to do.
@evanhullinger2900
@evanhullinger2900 5 жыл бұрын
this game was dull cause the Jays tanked this game after winning that wild game 4 15-14. They lost this game on purpose just to get the series back to Toronto where they eventually won it on the Joe Carter walk-off. So to me the Phillies didn't win this one. The Jays gave them the game.

@@evanhullinger2900 that's ok, the Phillies tanked in the 4th and 6th games. They didn't want to play a 7th game

I think 2-3-2 is not a good format, 2-2-1-1-1 but i would really prefer, 1-1-1-1-1-1-1, that would be the most fair, screw the players laziness about travel. It could cost you the series.
