another auburn fan that was at that game. my uncle is a huge gator booster and gave me an extra ticket to go with him and sit in the booster section.... they had a big banner saying "the luck stops here" but it didn't. the 93 game was great as well

The Auburn-Florida games from 93-95 were epic shootouts! Nix, Sanders, Beasley, Davis...Wuerffel, Doering, Jackson, Taylor... I had just started getting into college football as a junior higher at this time. Great memories!

Not that it matters now since it was almost 30 years ago, was that a touchdown ? Around the 10:38 Mark.

This was such a great rivalry in the 80's and early 90's. Im a UF Fan. And I miss this rivalry, along with the much less intense rivalry w FSU, And Tennessee.

This game still hurts me today. This was one of the most devastating losses that i have ever experienced as a lifelong Gator. Sanders had a horrible day and then........... LOL. Hey, if Bo Nix was anything like his dad, Gus would still have a job. Great game though!!!!! We lost but it's still one of my all time favorites.
@shawnjenkins746925 күн бұрын
Yep. Hands-down the worst loss ever, coming in No. 1 in The Swamp and losing to that jackass Bowden. Closest we ever came to an undefeated season.
@Proganaut19893 жыл бұрын
Man I loved this game ... I'm a huge Auburn fan and for our secondary to do this against a eventual heisman trophy winner much less 4 all world wideouts was incredible.

One of the most heartbreaking losses yet one of the best football games ever. How fitting was it that it was Terry? Sanders was having an absolutely horrible day. Terry Dean was bought, lmbo. I could go on and on. Great memories.
@walterlv018 жыл бұрын
This was the infamous "Terry Dean Game" for Florida - Dean had been the Heisman Trophy front runner coming into this, fell apart with 4 turnovers in the first half, and never played another down of football for Florida while Danny Wuerffel went on to become a Gators legend.

first auburn game I was ever at. Some florida fans were calling us the war chickens before the game. As a kid (7) I turned to my dad and said it's war eagle right? He said yes son. I corrected them lol. To their credit, the florida fans laughed too. Thanks for the upload.

So these 2 programs went in different directions soon after. The great Bowden 22 game winning streak ended next week w a tie to UGA. A loss to Bama followed and the Bowden 95 to 98 yrs were pretty average as recruiting fell off due to the NCAA restrictions under Dye. Dean never played again. .Danny W took over and for the next 2.5 yrs UF won 3 SEC titles...had 0 losses in the SEC and only 3 overall.. and won the natty in 96.

This was the day Terry Dean's career ended. I still think this was one of the best teams we ever had at Florida. Who doesn't get much credit is Stephen Davis. He ran his butt off that day. The horror of those Auburn snare drums will forever be stamped in my head as I sat and watched the last touchdown a develop as it were in slow motion. Sanders is actually covered. The ball left Nix's hand and from the trajectory I went from being yes, we got them to my heart sinking as Sanders went up. Although we had great coverage there was absolutely no way that our Safety Michael Gilmore was going to jump with Sanders. The moan of 75 thousand Gator fans and the roar of maybe 6 or so thousand of Auburn fans. People forget who was on this Bowden Coaching staff. I know it was a young Jimbo Fisher. Whats even more funny is that Florida played Georgia the next weekend and the UGA offense was absolutely loaded with future NFL talent and future coaches. Will Muschamp and Kirby Smart were on that Georgia team, lol.

I have great memories playing football with Terry at Pine Ridge Middle School in Naples Florida. I was one of his best receivers during PE flag football under Coach Ivory Scott. I went on to Barron Collier and was looking forward to making the team but I moved on to Knoxville TN. Ended up jointing the Army and was in the 82nd Airborne division during this game. Wish I could have stayed on and played High School football with Terry. He had the best arm id ever seen!
