Btw, that year Miami had set the all-time NCAA record for most home games won in a row - 58 (still standing as of right now) and then lost to Washington, which broke the streak. This FSU game was Miami's next home game after that loss.

@reneep9972 5 жыл бұрын
Well, as a Canes fan as a Hispanic woman, let me tell you why the Canes have fallen off the map. I'm just being honest but it'll be seen as racist by some. Ever since The U has decided to go all black at QB since the graduation of Brock Berlin in 2004, the Miami Hurricanes have been a joke. It's no coincidence that virtually every black QB in the NFL turns out to be a major bust and it's no coincidence that ever since Miami stopped playing white QBs in favor of black ones, they have become a fringe Division 1 football team. Perhaps it's laziness, lack of commitment, lack of intelligence, poor decision making, whatever. Put blacks all over the field, that's great. I have no issue with that, they are better athletes than whites. But STOP putting them at QB. The stats and reality are not debatable. Miami's demise is self inflicted and began by naming Randy Shannon, who changed the whole QB culture at Miami, as head coach replacing the fired Larry Coker who went 60-15 as head coach who won a National Championship that is widely regarded as the greatest college football team ever and would've won back to back titles if not for some paid off official who decided to throw a PI flag about a minute after Miami was on the field celebrating another championship. A referee who should've never been allowed to work another game again and a guy who no doubt had an Ohio State Luckeye jersey on underneath his striped jersey. In short, stop the political correctness and put the best man available at quarterback and only then will the Miami Hurricanes return to greatness.
@Irish8625
@Irish8625 5 жыл бұрын
@@reneep9972 Michael Vick, Steve Mcnair, Russell Wilson, and Donavan Mcnabb would have to disagree with you from an NFL standpoint. With how every offensive system is running in cfb, black qb are built for these systems. Miami has won championships with subpar qb's ask Ken Dorsey-anyone could've won with all that talent around him. They've haven't recruited good ones in years, skin color has nothing to do with. Larry Coker was nothing special, he was pretty much handed key's to a BMW, and totaled it. Randy Shannon was actually a really good recruiter. Donna Shalala, and Nevin Shapiro played a huge role in the fall of Miami. Other factors that played a role in the fall was losing the orange bowl stadium, they should've downsized it. The rise of SEC from 2006 to now also made those made those schools look more attractive to recruits in South Florida, than Miami. Miami also had a lot of outdated facilities. Miami moving to the ACC also didn't help their cause.

I forgot how huge that CJ Richardson play was. We were down 14-7 at the time. The Rock with a 2.8 GPA getting recognized as a scholar athlete. Hysterical. That night the OB was incredibly loud and our reputation as a top program and unbeatable at home was really challenged. The Canes came through big time...When Carlos Jones picked off that pass I thought the place was going to come down. Great stuff.

As long as Miami continues their self destruction by putting out one brain dead black QB after another, they will continue to be an absolute joke. There's a reason only one black QB (Doug Williams) has won a Super Bowl and he was the back up who replaced Jay Schroeder in the playoffs after Jay got hurt. Go ahead and take credit for Russell Wilson but he's obviously only half black. Until the Canes go back to what made them great, it'll be 7-5 season after season with zero quality wins. Brains over athleticism every day of the week.

Let me see.......since Jimbo has taken over we're 45-10, 3 ACCC appearances winning 2, 4-0 against Miami, 3-1 against Florida, 4-0 in bowls, 5-1 against the SEC and the more important......1 National Championship! The Noles are back where we belong period!

Back where you belong? You don't have a history of winning National titles lol this is new territory you only have 3 titles in your history. . Act accordingly.

+kenneth deweese Canes fan here. 3 titles is a pretty damn good accomplishment. I mean Oregon for example has had some stacked teams and no titles to show for it.
