Ford should have been slapped for putting the slave in the bell housing 🤦 I had the same issue about a year ago on my 93 F150 300 4.9L 5spd, I just replaced the master and slave. The concentric slaves for those are garbage and so are their "easy" connect lines that come after market!
@bettythe95bronco573 жыл бұрын
I wish there was a solid aftermarket that permanently attached to the slave with an easy but secure connection. I honestly thought about JB Welding the line to the slave because I was so frustrated, but decided against it in the end.

Did you get it fixed bc my 94 4.9 5 speed 2 wd won’t build pressure in my clutch I just put new master and new slave a year ago . only thing I did was get my shift forks replaced and then no clutch new master and it’s still giving me hell do they take forever to build pressure or something?
@MrShazaamm3 жыл бұрын
@@knoxjhill3991 you'll have to bench bleed the master cylinder, if you didn't then buy a cheap brake bleeder from harbor and bleed via the slave cylinder.

Your line kept popping off because there’s a little plastic sleeve that when u plug your line back it muy must press that little plastic sleeve in as well of its not locked in. To take it off you must slide that plastic sleeve back out away from the transmission and it will release the line allowing you to take the line out Thanks for the vid
@BDOML91013 жыл бұрын
U actually push the plastic sleeve in to un lock the line so u can remove it...
@bettythe95bronco572 жыл бұрын
So I actually had to replace it again last month. The one that I have has a clip that secures the line into the slave cylinder. I think the groove was worn down, not allowing the clip to stay secure.
@joemama11512 жыл бұрын
The clip is an aftermarket "upgrade" for that connection. The OE is basically the same as a fuel line. But instead of needing a tool to press in the fingers to release they put the tool on the line for you. That's what the plastic collar is. You press it into the joint (toward the transmission) to push the fingers back to release the line.

I have been watching other videos and they are using a vacuum pump to remove the air. That can be purchased at harbor freight.
@chrispollock83243 жыл бұрын
How did you get that line to stop popping off?
@bettythe95bronco572 жыл бұрын
Sorry for taking so long to reply, but I actually just had to change the line again. My best guess is not using the same brand of clutch line and slave cylinder, maybe the connection was slightly off? I'm not sure, but it's working for now lol

Why did the line come off. And what should keep it in place. Is this a common problem.

Off is fine the best way to bleed these is with a vacuum pump from the top. They are about $40 at harbor freight
@MJsLandscaping-i9e8 ай бұрын
@@FreedomInc tried the vacuum pump from the top. i lost whatever little clutch pressure i had. when i cracked the slave bleeder screw n tried from the bottom without the vacuum pump i got half pressure. i took that garbage vacuum pump back
@FreedomInc8 ай бұрын
@@MJsLandscaping-i9e you didnt do it correctly then. If you get a good seal and pull vacuum on the line the only thing that can fill it back up is fluid when you pull the line out.
@MJsLandscaping-i9e8 ай бұрын
@@FreedomInc apparently neither did u lol but ok. seen plenty of videos how to do it and i do it exactly as shown. i will leave the vacuum to it and go take an hour nap then check n see if any better
@FreedomInc8 ай бұрын
@@MJsLandscaping-i9e because you use youtube to learn what you may know. I most times use it to give better information to those seeking help. I had an issue one time. Snd it was me doing something incorrectly. And if you're not getring a full pedal the same can be said for you. Its a relatively slow process since the vacuum has to pull the air through the fluid.

Slave Cyl. Not Master Cyl. Slave is for Clutch Master is for Brake
@Floordford4 жыл бұрын
The master cylinder is where the reservoir is for either brake or clutch. The slave cylinder is what is pushing the clutch. Essentially your brake calipers are a type of slave cylinder even though they aren't called that.
@benjaminwilliams7794 жыл бұрын
the master cylinder is what the clutch rod pushes into which forces the hydraulic fluid through and activating the slave which disconnects the clutch. the clutch and the brake each have their own master cylinders.
