When cleaning the vinyl flooring, using a tire brush with the VLR (or whatever else you may use) helps get the grunge out of the grain. Towels just hit the high spots.

Yes for a little run around truck the vinyl is the way to go, cleans up nice and still looks good.

Why bother? Rip out the old carpet, then vacuum! A lot of the dirt will come out with the carpet, anything remaining will vacuum up more easily with no carpet there.
