1995 Honda Helix Wont Start Need Help!!!

95 helix. Bought off a tow yard for $500. No knowledge of previous owner(s). Ran/drove for about a month until MI winter came. Did nothing to winterize the scooter. Stored in garage over winter.

Saw your comment; thanks for watching! At this point, the battery is practically dead, so it's not actually "cranking" the engine. The "clicking" noise is the starter solenoid going nuts because of the lack of power from the battery. Also, these engines will not run properly without the intake duct and filter installed (the CV carb requires vacuum at the intake side to function properly). A few other things; you should remove the bowl and clean out the jets and needle valve with carb cleaner

Once the jets are clean, spray out the entire carb body; remove the cold start valve (the black thing screwed to the carb with the wires hanging off of it) and clean out the needle seat and vacuum port. Don't remove the idle mixture screw (located on the head side of the carb, towards the bottom, which should have a small metal cap attached to it that prevents it from being removed). If the cap is missing or broken, the needle valve has been removed and is likely out of adjustment.

Then, check the carburetor mount for cracks (the rubber piece that mounts the carb to the cylinder head). If you notice any cracks or dry-rot, you need to replace the mount ($40~ at the Honda dealer).

The rear brake needs to be adjusted so the kill switch will disengage.

Fill the tank with fresh 93 octane fuel (that's what these require to run correctly), and she should run again. If you have any misfiring or other abnormalities, I can help you sort those out (just post a video and drop me a message).

You see that bright red square on the dash? First thing you need to do is CHANGE THE OIL.

Reponse @bbishopcpm jets were thoroughly cleaned and carb sprayed down and cleaned fired right up! Thank you so much! Ps i will be taking your advice from now on with the 93 gas.

I've seen a lot of people panic because of this. For any vehicle with electric start you will hear some form of noise if the starter is engaging at all. It will be the engine turning or a whirring noise or even some awful grinding noise but you will hear a noise for as long as you hold the start button. If you don't or you hear the engine turn once or twice but weakly or you hear a little popping noise but nothing else happens it comes down to electrics. When you buy a used vehicle that you know isn't working PERFECTLY the first things that you should do are change the oil, coolant and charge the battery. In the case of older bikes or very dirty engine bays you may need to take the carb apart and clean it *DO NOT spray carb cleaner into a full carb as the cleaner will destroy the gaskets* or just replace it entirely since a genuine Honda replacement is $60 and a Chinese brand replacement is like $30. Finally, a fun fact about the Helix; After you change the oil you will need to reset the indicator by inserting your key into a small rubber gasket under the gauges and pressing it in firmly.
