J'avais bêtement raté ce concert à Vienne. JML est vraiment un guitariste hors du commun.

I love the drums with guitar open-string harmonics at around 37:40, leading into a drum solo.

Saw this Tour in Glasgow. My friend and I casually sat down at a table, with our drinks, about 2 ft from the stage, and proceeded to smoke about half a dozen hash oil impregnated cigarettes, so John was swaying around playing in this thick cloud of smoke, and occasionally drinking from a couple of bottles of Beer he had next to his amplifier. We were pleasantly surprised that nobody reprimanded us for that. Maybe John figured it was o.k ~ just part of the traditional Jazz Club ambience, the Group were Smokin' and so were we! It was the first time I'd seen McLaughlin playing Electric... it was fantastic Music, somwhat evocative of the "Tony Williams Lifetime" which was a favorite Band of mine, and Mr D.C played a Drum Solo with his one Bass drum Set~up that was like what Billy Cobham used to do with two. All three played brilliantly. Quite a night, getting Loaded at the feet of Mr Mahavishnu.🍾🥂🌫 🚬🌫🌫🎼🎸🌫🎵🕉🎶🎹🌫🎵🎶🥁🎶💜

The interplay between these three virtuosos is sensational. Utterly mind blowing. It’s hard to believe that John has recently turned 80! I’m going to see him play in May of this year, pandemic permitting. Yeah, he’s slowed down (a little!), but nothing will ever diminish his outstanding contributions to numerous genres of music. Long live the mighty Mahavishnu!

B.L.O.W.N. away, yet hauntingly beautiful! Love John but gotta say at 45:45 is the first time I've seen him work hard in all of his videos and yet right there after finishing 10 minutes of racing the drum set through Indy 500, Dennis is matching each note for each beat while chewing bubble gum! Dennis the machine makes all this look like child's play or more like Chamber music!! Understated greatness!! PS: Thank you Joey! Your fingers burn the white keys and make them black! What a pleasure to watch!

You know what's awesome? This chronicle of one of the most amazing live performances ever, can still be criticized by petty random trolls. The best part is making the frontal lobeless comp between hammering on tom toms and picking strings..... now that's awesome.

Salu les amateurs confirmé de Jazz,.. bonjour De Belgique ,notre Philippe Catherine est De cette trempe aussi ❤
This is why Malmsteen extremly dislikes anything that has connection with jazz. He's simply unable to repeat what John plays here.At the same time here John reached the very peek of his virtuosity.
