90's nostalgia in a SLP Pontiac Trans-Am with ram air and 300+ horsepower. The car marked a return to the muscle car age with high efficiency V8 power.

Logan I had #421 white with light blue stickers, bought new left over in 1996 for 28.5 K. And sold it in 2010 with only 5,740 miles on it for 17.K and bought a new 2001 Ram Air red - tan 6speedpaid 31.5 K kept until 2009 with only 7,600 miles sold for 22.K. So Sorry I sold my babies, but needed the money at the time,.

I actually own a 1995 Trans AM Comp T/A #38/168 which is another limited run SLP car. I bought it used in 1997 with 11k miles on it, and it sits in my garage still today, babied and rarely driven with only 70k miles on it. It is easily one of the fastest cars I have ever driven, and is still an absolute head turner with its silver paint and grey stripe down the middle. I will be buried with the keys to that fucking car, lol.

They got some things confused. I have the Pontiac brochure from thee dealer in 1995. It says: 300hp @ 5000 330tq @ 2000 Or optional: 315hp @ 5500 342tq @ 4000 The acceleration numbers for the 315hp are: 4.9 to 60mph Quarter mile was: 13.5 @ 103.5 Other than the 1997 LT4 SS this is the fastest LT1 3rd gen fbody. In 1997 motorweek test on that SS LT4 that went 4.9 to 60 smoking tires all the way there and 13.2@108.8. That would be quite a car to have. Either would for that matter. I still like the firehawk better and a guy could always do roller rockers like the LT4 and a couple of bolt-ons to the hawk and be right there with that SS and looking much sweeter.

At 1:25 torque peak RPMs is wrong... more like 3800 RPMs, not "2000 RPMs"... those low rise LT1/LT4 intake manifolds were weak at low RPMs compared to earlier L98 TPI intakes... stronger at higher RPMs...

i dont know for sure i didnt even look at the engine to be honest he could have been playing me. but i do know one thing i gave him one hell of a ride. scared the shit out of the guy. damn thing could break loose the tires with out thinkin about it. it was an auto to not a manual. real wheel drive. hey sorry about bien an idiot in other comments by the way. turned the corners well slide around every corner and hit 3 360's on dry pavement. blew into the gas station and slid in between 2 cars.

Talk to guy I sold it to, and he said I could buy it back for what he paid for it. $16,000. Still has under 6,000. Miles , all factory stock. Hopefully everything works out. Pray 🙏 for me to get my car back..

I saw one of these come through the GM dealership I worked at. Way overpriced , cannot see out the rear of the car except for seeing the light bar of the LEO patrol car. Wasn't impressed. Would have been better off buying the corvette of the time. There was so much more potential to be had with this drivetrain. Too bad they detuned it so badly.

@@GOBRADON502 Did you really? Did you really "laugh your ass off?" And actually he's completely wrong because this 24 year old Firehawk is actually still a full second quicker through the quarter mile than a 2017 (or 2018) WRX. Only a newer STI can keep up with it and even then this old Firehawk still corners slightly harder and brakes slightly better than even an STI. That's saying a lot for an over 25 year old design.
@LeoM-zt3pl4 жыл бұрын
2017 wrx will get stomped on the street because the only way a WRX is keeping up is launching at 5000 rpm and praying the driveline doesn't explode
