1996 Dodge V 10 Cam Sensor replacement and new Headlight Switch and Headlights! | Shots Life

This week we replace the Cam Sensor on my 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 V10 we also replace the Headlight switch and install new Headlights. Its great to have the old girl up and running!

Fun video!! It’s nice getting a vehicle running again. Those were all win/win projects. I agree that it’s annoying as heck that the manufacturers don’t keep a proper inventory for problem items they have created. Has the plastic on top of your dash crumbled into pieces on you yet? Grrrr. 😂😂. I had a 2008 Colorado I kept much longer than anticipated. It was quite fun off-road and nice to drive in the city. It had the inline 5 that many complained about (it seemed like many) but I had zero issues in about 150,000 miles. The switches in the dash for things like the heater/AC fan etc had a real tendency to do exactly as your light switch did. The parts were available, but they weren’t improved on and were expensive, so you go to the foreign market to hopefully find something better! It was definitely always cheaper. I got tired of fixing on those electrical things though,,, I sold it to a nephew and he loves it!! I may have possibly replaced every broken switch or relay because he is well over 200,000 miles (330,000 km+) and hasn’t had a single break!! You see a lot that are done at around 400,000 kms. He is hoping to stretch that to 600,000 I’m. He has a commute of 80 km (50 miles) every day and lives on an acreage I gave him (land only, they built the home & shop with their money as well as the banks! 😂😂. He loves that truck like I did. The motor is oil stain free, no leaks in the transfer case or the transmission. He is supposed to come in some day to replace the oil and rear differential cover gasket as it seeps a bit too much. The front is good. I will make sure I have all the oils on hand so we can change all oils & filters front to rear. I’m sure I have all I need, just have to check. Ran out to the cabin today!! Has been about a week and a half. We had about 8” of light snow, but coming in on the 2 track trail you would think it was a foot or more!! Because it’s to most open area it has collected all the drifting snow over the last week!! I had the 3/4 ton 69 K20 that’s capable of being locked in front & rear and barely made it in!! A couple drifts were sheer momentum that cleared them!! Ran the yard tractor, (John Deere 1025) and it took me a few hours to clean up 1/2 the trail!! Be interesting to see how my wife does with her new Subaru Crosstrek, she loved it and sold her Grand Cherokee 4xe. It’s smaller, similar clearance, but it is light,,,, 😂😂😂. I’ll pull her out when the time comes,,,, 😂😂😂. Glad to see you got rain!! I made it sound like we have moisture, but we are super dry and the snowpack that we depend on for irrigation etc isn’t happening. El Niño typically means much less than average snow packs,,,, yikes!! The winters are easy to handle like this, but for the farmers,,,, it’s stressful!! Take care!! Hope Tank is a dog that comes to like the vet!! Our little dog loves going to the vet’s office!! It’s nice to be that way. She doesn’t even flinch for vaccinations because she is so busy giving he vet as many loves as possible!! 😂😂😂 goofy thing. Tank is soooo very cute!! 😊

Hey brother, yeah I replaced the dash once quite a few years ago, a real pain… it’s awesome the truck is still running! Any bear sightings at the cabin this week? 8”, holy cow… we might get a dusting today but it won’t stick… the lake did get a coat of ice a couple days ago but was gone by noon… clearing trails sounds fun! Tank is fine at the Vet but she doesn’t love it… wish she did. Merry Christmas!

@@shotslife - Merry Christmas!! The not so old bear was sighted about 18 miles closer to the mountains and is now in a National Park. They actually knew who he was even though they never tagged him. He has had numerous reported encounters with humans and has always avoided them. Smart bear! He will live a long time. He is estimated to be 10 - 12 years old so going into his prime. He will never be the biggest kid on the block, but should always hold his own!!! Haha. Sounds like me!! I gotta meet this fella and have a chat!! (No thanks,,,, heh heh). Hey brother, really like the new gas pump but I think it would look better in front of the garage. I'm surprised I'm the first one to put a comment on your channel for this video. Wish I had a garage like yours, such a large space for all your toys and stuff. With all my tools and machines that would be ideal for me. Glad you like the garage, I have really enjoyed it, most of my life I have been wrenching on the driveway, this is much better! Shot, I always wonder if you ever considered building a pit when building your work garage. Considering the number of vehicles you have, getting up under them without a lift would be easy. Or are you planning to buy a lift.

Every bolt should be metric According to me, dont you agree 😉😉 Like previous comment, it might look better in the front of the garage. And just spoke to my wife, i would like to have a Welder, compressor and a pair of quickjacks in the garage, but its quite smaller than your garage 😊

Hey bud, yeah metric is actually easier to me but either way I wish there was just one system. Quickjacks would be nice, one day I’ll have a lift, just not a priority yet, i sure do appreciate what I do have though, way better than working on my driveway all the time.
