1996 GSXR750 unveiled

From Yorkshire. Met a lass in Ibiza. After hols went to see her in Brighton on my RD350. The srad had just come out that week. Took her out for a blast one Sunday arvo and saw one of these. Tried to keep up with it, followed it to a left hand corner and never seen a bile turn like that. Knew mine wouldn't go round that quick so moved to far right of opposite lane to try and straighten out the corner cos I was determined to keep up with it. She started punching me in the back shouting WTF do you think you're doing so slowed down and said goodbye to it. Good job she did that or could have ended up in the field. Ended up buying a new 99' WX model in black/grey/silver 3 yrs later. What a bike.

I own a1996 model. Purple and Gray. I was given it for free. As a non runner. Three years ago. Still working on it . Brilliant bike. Keeps up with all the new stuff no problem 👍

BIG TIME game changer my friend. When that bike hit the market, it changed the face of AMA 750 super sport from then on. To this date, there hasn't been another 750 cc bike produced that could de-throne it. All manufacturers had to go back to the drawing board scratching there heads. Kawasaki even pulled out of AMA 750 super sport that year because they had nothing for the GSXR. 750 based sport bikes have pretty much devolved since this bike was introduced . That's a game changer ;)

I recently purchased a nice 96' GSXR 750 SRAD. I got the Black and Gold one. I fell in love with it the moment I laid eyes on it. My early Christmas gift from Me to Me :-)

My first motorcycle was a 2000 GSXR 600. The last year that the SRAD was made in the 600cc class. I bought it in 2003 and I still have it. I have babied the hell out of it for over 10 years. I'd say that I have one of the prettiest SRAD's out there. I can't believe how far motorcycles have come. I wonder what sport bikes will look like in 20 more years!!

I distinctly remember when that Gixxer came out in '99 for the 2000 model year (the one you mentioned). I was 14. ESPN's Motoworld covered Suzuki's 2000 model year range and I remember thinking how cool that GSX-R was then and still is today. I wish I could find a bike as cool as that.

We called it "The Crunchy!" A chocolate bar down here. I still have mine, in bits, the blue one with a full yoshi RS3 awaiting the rebuild. HAHA, two up was unreal, keeping the nose down and my mates never getting on her Fatass again, beauty Albert.

I love this bike, only downfall is the nose, looks like it is watching the skies. I own a -96 750 and today i started it up for its 4th summer in my possession. powerful, stable and takes out all the newer injector 600cc bikes on 1/4 drag. This summer i will lift the rear a little bit and lower the nose and its then my dream bike :p

Love this bike, own a 98 gsxr 600 myself(black and red) and i have to say she loves being tortured. Just being able to hear her scream towards 14.000 rpm and kicking it through the gears is a privelege.

Lol, and who made you the expert, if you knew ANYTHING about bikes yourself, you would know that this bike (GSXR 750 SRAD) was a huge jump forward in the game, it shook the competitors, and actually forced some to rethink their whole design and competing in the 750cc class, read up man :D
