I have this exact car, but mine is black and it has 190,000 miles on the clock. I am the original owner of my 1996 Mustang GTS/248a. So, mine was only optioned with power door locks, power windows, a cassette radio, rear defroster, AC, and cruise control. My car still has the original long block, meaning the heads have not been off the block yet. I could list all the mods, but the coolest mod is the SVO intake from the Ford Performance catalogue. I still really like my Mustang. She still turns heads.

the reason it has so few options is it's a "GTS" model. The GTS, also known as 248A package was an option you could order with this generation where you got the V8, but could delete normal GT options that add weight, so no power seats, no power windows, no A/C, no decklid spoiler, no fog lamps, ect. Considering how few GTS would have been ordered to begin with, finding one with this little mileage and in this condition is rare indeed.

I had one just like it but in Dark Tourmaline. It was so basic, it didn't even have a trunk release button! But the cool thing Ford did was leave all the connectors in place so you could add the things you wanted over time. I could be wrong, but the 248A package had the stock 16" wheels.

You bring back some good old memories! I like these retro-reviews. Modular engines means they were part of the Ford V8 4.6L/5.4L & V10 6.8L engine family sharing core components.

I always wanted an original Mach 1. Down under 700 new Mach 1s are coming at $85k a piece. You had a ball by the looks of it. Fantastic.

Nice! Takes me way back too. In 1994, I took a skid control course in a red 1994 Mustang GT. Ten years later, I got to drive a 1995 Mustang V6 5 speed coupe from Texas and a convertible GT from Florida. Good times! Yeah, incredible how the Mustang has evolved since then. We're almost as far away from the intro of this SN95 Mustang introduced in 1994, as it was from the original Mustang introduced in 1964. Scary when you think of it that way, how far cars have come, and how old we are, lol!

Great looking SN95. Exhaust and shifter are the go to mods here. The 03/04 Cobra style wheels look fantastic on this gen.

I absolutely love these cars my dad has one and it's the automatic version and it's got electrical wind down windows

The stripped down GT model like that was called the "GTS" in the US market. I love the SN95. My Dad bought a new GT in '96. Pacific Green with Gold package (keyholes, horses, etc.) and it had leather, etc. Didn't have the Mach 460 stereo. Just your basic cassette tape. 5 Speed. God, I loved that car so much.

I’ve got an 02 GT 5 spd convertible. Great cheap fun. Fast, fun, loud. It handles well enough for public roads and enough power to spin the tires in 2nd gear. It also has enough modern safety features and amenities (ABS, A/C, a good stereo, PS & PB) that I can take it on long road trips, but it’s simple enough that I can do a lot of the maintenance myself. Parts are cheap, and there’s an instructional KZbin video for every repair or modification you might want to do. If that sounds appealing, a 4th Mustang might be for you.

Great driving Zack. I met my (now) Wife while working as a Lot-boy at a Ford dealership, when this was first released. That was sometime ago. They never really achieved the following that the Fox body cars got, which was too bad. Thanks for the review. Did you hear that SINGER has created a Safari 911 (964)? That would be an experience! Thanks for the video.

Nice review, great car, so few km! Didn't this generation come with independent rear suspension in the Cobra model only?
@NGG19833 жыл бұрын
The cobra model from 1999-2004 had Independent rear suspension. The 1994-1998 had a solid axle.

These are great cars because they are fun yet usable everyday. I wouldn't preserve it for collectability - what would be the point of buying this car and letting it sit?

Nope because it lacks performance. It's a crown Vic in mustang clothing. Yes the engine revs freely but no extra power. 215 feels slower and not as lively as the foxbody did.
