I am surprised that you did not remove the needle jet emulsion tube and slide guide. A worn slide guide is the source of most problems with this carb

Outstanding video. This is how instructional videos should be handled. I do have a question. I have a 2005 Polaris ATP 500 HO and I have not been able to locate a carb rebuild kit for it. Any ideas on where I might find one? I found 1 OEM rebuild kit that's in Australia for $88 which I was not trying to spend. Thanks!

I'm not a big fan of aftermarket rebuild kits. I wouldn't use any of the jets just clean the stock ones. I would use the O-rings and needle and seat. You can go to rockymountainatvmc.com and order the O-rings but a lot look to be on backorder. This looks like a kit off Amazon for the 2005 500HO. amzn.to/3BCstoM

Excellent video! All tasks very well explained and filmed, even the tiniest pieces! About the cleaning of the needles and rest of small bits, could be used an ultrasound cleaner? And that seal grease, is it a kind of silicon grease? Thank you very much! 👌🏻👌🏻

Thanks for this video! Helps me a lot. A question I have is regarding the float. I’ve seen others set the float height to 14mm. I bought a full rebuild kit, so it has a float replacement. You just popped yours in, it’s good to go from factory?

A friend suggested using brake cleaner to clean the carbi. He says it's like a degreaser on steroids. What do you think? Otherwise what type of cleaner did you use? I couldn't understand what you said. Pine(something)
@TepcoCycleRepair
@TepcoCycleRepair 4 жыл бұрын
Brake cleaner is fine. I use Pinesol in a pot heated but still spray it down with carb or brake cleaner. Just don't spray the slide diaphragm, you'll ruin it.

@@TepcoCycleRepair Thanks, just one other question if you don't mind. The spring that is positioned behind the mechanism that the two throttle cables are attached to (that helps this throttle spring back) Do you know the part number for this or exactly what the spring is called? My throttle doesn't spring back efficiently and I'm thinking I should change this spring.
@TepcoCycleRepair
@TepcoCycleRepair 4 жыл бұрын
@@marcogonzalez7829 Most likely it's not the spring. Slow return is usually in the thumb throttle housing or cables dragging or routed improperly. I've never had to replace that spring. If you need any parts look up your machine on rockymountainatv.com

I have a question tho, is the the carb your working on here a mikuni tm33? Is this the same carb in my dr350?? Its a 1990 dr350 dirt model and it looks the same as that, im fairly confident its not the original CV carb they used
@njmxjunkie3128
@njmxjunkie3128 4 жыл бұрын
This is considered a pumper carb right?
@TepcoCycleRepair
@TepcoCycleRepair 4 жыл бұрын
It's a constant Velocity carb. Or CV carb. A pumper carb would have an accelerator pump like on many flat slides when you're directly pulling the slide up. Vacuum pulls this slide up.
@TepcoCycleRepair
@TepcoCycleRepair 4 жыл бұрын
The stock DR650 uses a Mikuni BST40 like in this video. The TM33 is a common upgrade to the DR350.

Thanks, yes name brand pinesol straight. I put it in a stainless pot on a single burner warm it up, drop the carb in put a top on it and let it soak for about 15min. Make sure of two things, don't soak it to long and rinse it extremely well when it's done soaking. It works incredibly well. I add water as it steams lower. Thanks for watching.

What’s it mean when the vent at the bottom is dripping fuel?
@TepcoCycleRepair
@TepcoCycleRepair 3 жыл бұрын
It means it's over flowing. Could be from a float needle not sealing, a float that was a filling with fuel. I would just get the kit I show in the video and swap it out, done!
