Once you remove the 2 bolts holding the fuel rail, the whole thing pulls up easily and then you replace the injector.

I have a 2000 Rav 4 with the same exact problem currently with the exact same error code also misfiring on cylinder 4. I changed the spark plugs and ignition coil for cylinders 1 and 4 and still runs rough with the check emgine light on. I will re check for spark, but when I pull the number 4 plug wire it has no affect on the engine and still runs poorly. Is that more of a bad ECU issue versus the injector failing?

Hello dear I have the same problem on my 97 rav4 manual transmission I have misfire on cilynder 1 already replace the spark plug and coil but still given me the same code I will try replace the injector may be solve the problem .

What are the odds my misfire on cylinder 1 is a fuel injector? Could it be the ignition coil instead? Is there another way to check without an oscilloscope?

It could be you coil or spark plug even. Just because the injector is in a tough place to get to I would make sure I have a spark first. If you don't have scope you can use ohmeter to check resistance of the suspected injector. U can check while car is off and at the ecu harness as I did with scope.

@@DallasAutoDiag Thanks for the reply! So I have already replaced spark plugs and wires. The CEL went off for a while and then came back later after maybe 50-60 miles of driving. I noticed when i changed the wires that the distributor cap was very loose on the bottom part so i tightened it and then that's when the light went away for a little bit.

@@Mega5Ozzy you probably had 2 separate problems. Check resistance of the suspected injector and compare it with the other ones.

God,Like looks like Freaking PRELUDE..LOL..RATS NEST.Why Totyota made these Models like they did back then,was Crazy.Yup,Ordered Fuel injectors & Valve Cover Gasket.Waiting on Parts.I'll make my upload soon to let you guyd know tha fun i'll have,lol.Good Video bro.Ive done everything I can think of that I've uploaded on Utube in regards to my 98'Toyota Rav4,but this Process.Yup, I'm sure this will make change in both performance,rav4 shutting off on me and the on and off shaking @ Red Lights,lol.

Useless. You showed us no video of you actually pulling or installing the injector. Not very helpful if you want information about actually physically changing a bad injector. How could you completely cut out the most important part of the actual task itself? Horribly disappointing. Very poorly done. Sorry, but I own the same car and I need to perform the exact same operation. There was some useful information, like the fuel rail bolts. But OMG, to completely omit the important part, that was hideously shameful.

It was a mistake and i did not want the video to be long. I thought finding the problem is the hard part to ppl. Because of the age of the car i really though there was another video on KZbin showing how the injector is being replaced. It was my fault not to check. I apologize if I disappointed you Sir.

@@DallasAutoDiag I'm really sorry for being so harsh. As it turns out, I had a dirtly injector, not an "open circuit" injector like you had. I put some injector cleaner in the tank and had an absolutely incredible increase in performance, not to mention fixing the problem with the dirty injector. The car runs so much better now that it just astounds me. I was fully prepared to replace the offending injector. I should have used this product in my tank months ago. "Royal Purple" brand injector/fuel sysem cleaner. Again, I'm sorry for being so harsh. Your video did concentrate more on diagnosis and I will have to admit I was very much impressed by the use of the oscilloscope and waveform display. Thank you for the video!
