My dad gave me a full set of these when I started golfing again in college. I honestly still play with them and think of iron play as the best part my game. I'm thinking of buying a newer set to try out but fun to gather the knowledge from this video and comments. I had no idea these were 25 years old!

I had a full set of these about 4 years ago and loved them. Sold them to a friend. Later bought a 1 iron in this club, pulled the shaft a put an extra stiff shaft in it. Didn’t hit as smooth as the rest of the clubs. Great video.

My brother had a set when they first came out. We called the "Self Hitters". They were larger than anything out there at the time. They had no feedback. Just a damp feel if you hit it good or bad. Good memories.

I bought a new set of these for around $150 at a Big Lots store many years ago. I still have them. I hit them better than any other irons I’ve owned. They still look great. They will last forever. Much longer than me.

I remember seeing those in Edwin Watts catalogs as a kid. I believe they were $1000+ at the time before being heavily discounted because no one bought them.

I just bought a set of these this morning about the same time you put out this video. How weird is that? Mind blown🤯

Also was that a Power Pod driver I saw in your golf bag? That club brings back memories 😄

Another nice video. I picked up a set 1 through SW because they were cheap! Ive read were they were $1800 new in 98. Fun to play around with but an expensive PITA to get regripped.

I like your channel but I don’t enjoy 1:40 of Camry stories before you talk about the golf club. I still have my Ti’s in my bag. For me no other iron is as consistently accurate and provides me consistent distances. I’ve tried numerous irons but I always come back to these.

They were the most expensive clubs in their day. More expensive than Mizunos

First off love your videos! I really enjoy seeing the older clubs and your reviews on them. So I was wondering if you could help me get some information on a iron set I just bought there labeled Joe Powell forged and they’re cavity backs I’ve been searing the internet and having a hard time finding any information on the irons. If you could help me it would be amazing!

Super high CG made these irons impossible to hit purely from any type of tight lie. Also, not sure that using Ti rather than a 6-4Ti alloy was the greatest idea except for weight savings, which they used to make the huge club head that doesn't weigh a ton. Callaway got it right with the tungsten sole insert in their GBB irons of that era to get the CG in the right place.

"Run down the biker mode" good one. We all agree that companies is trying to sell us all sort of craps. Things that work perfectly fine then they stop making it, instead to sell us with some stupid gadgets that we don't need. Like why the heck we need a iPad on our car??? To distract us? Then put the run down biker mode??

I bought a used set of Tommy Armour Ti irons years ago. Not good. Very unforgiving. The Callaway Great Big Bertha Ti irons are much better and forgiving if you're looking for a titanium iron.

Worst idea for irons. There simply isn't any weight to the heads and no real ball impact. Like hitting with aluminum heads.
