1998-12-21 Denver Broncos vs Miami Dolphins

This was only the 2nd time Elway and Marino faced each other in a regular season game. That's kinda shocking. Broncos just came off a loss to the Giants.

My son was born that night in Albemarle Hospital Elizabeth City Nc. He was born right at halftime Went to see him near midnight. All this time I'm thinking Denvet won Denver was up 10 7 at the half Didn't find out that Miami won till 3 days later

This would be the 1st meeting between Marino and Elway in 13 years. They would only meet twice in the regular season in their careers. Not sure how that happens between 2 teams in the same conference. Marino would win both regular season games once in Denver once in Miami. Elway would win the only playoff meeting. That game in Denver

I remember Miami celebrating like they won a Superbowl after ... The Divisional playoff game was a totally different story. A total butt kicking when it mattered. Marino's last shot. Lol

Apparently Broncos fans are still seething over this embarrassment on MNF in front of a national audience. Too bad they weren't still undefeated. Then the Phins would've had to shut em out 17-0.

Do you also cry about the Jaguars beating the Broncos in 1996 too haha? The Dolphins also embarrassed the Broncos again on MNF. To start the 99' season. This time in Denver. The Dolphins also beat the Broncos on SNF in Denver in 2002. Phins beat Denver in 1998, 1999, 2001,2002, 2005 and 2008 hehe. Defensive scores in 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2008. Nothing better than the defense scoring on the road lol. I can still hear barrel man booing.

My dad was at this game with my uncle and he told me even though the Dolphins won he felt the broncos were half assing it and didn’t get the full throttle Broncos on offense. So fast forward to the divisional round and the Dolphins got their ass kicked and my dad wasn’t surprised they lost and to be honest the Broncos left points on the board it should of read 51-3. Also in my opinion this was Dan Marino’s best game in a very very mediocre Jimmy Johnson era. I met Dan Marino here on Long Island NY and I told him after the way the fans and media treated Shula his last year in 95 you should’ve left the Dolphins. Marino and Shula should’ve ended their careers together.
