Agreed. All things considered, the 90s was probably by far the greatest quarterback era in NFL history. It was a far more physically difficult game and mentally difficult when you take into account that back in those days the quarterback had to have complete command of the offense unlike today where quarterbacks are very much more controlled by the coordinators/play callers. And let’s not even get started on these undeniably quarterback friendly and catering rules added to the game to increase scoring and inflate passing numbers 😒

The Bills QB was not responsible for the fwd pass also known as the Music City Miracle. Rob Johnson was no great QB, but he did lead his team to what should have been the winning field goal and then never touched the ball again. ...For the right to get curbstomped by the legendary 1998 Broncos the following weekend. Miami had beaten Denver (badly), on a Monday Night game in Week 16 thus preserving the 1972 Dolphins undefeated season standing alone. (Denver lost to the Giants the week before in a fluke game). However, those two games would be their only losses, and by the divisional playoffs #1 seed Denver was firing on all cylinders, blowing Miami out 38-3 next week.

The Jimmy Johnson years were so frustrating in Miami. He built a good defense, but actively worked to neuter the offense. JJ wanted to trade Marino when he arrived in Miami and tried to supplant him with Craig Erickson. When that didn't work, he took away Marino's ability to audible because letting Marino run the offense was "going to the cookie jar". The offense became "hand the ball off to subpar RB's for 1st and 2nd down then throw the ball to slow WR's on 3rd and long." If JJ was trying to replicate the Dallas formula, he failed miserably.

I'm a Rider fan, but always liked Flutie in the CFL, even though he was never on my team. The games he played in were always exciting.

the last playoff games of marino vs bills and seattle were dramatic with the illusion of winning a superbowl for dan, sadly the dolphins would be beaten in the next round vs broncos an jaguars respectively

If Marino had been allowed to play in his prime under current rules that baby quarterbacks He would pass for 6000+ yards and 65TD in a season. This guy was a stud QB who could fire a damn football like a sniper with a scope.

The Bills turned it over too many times. Exciting game with a lot of veteran players in the twilight of their careers.

i miss these old aesthetics, the old abc and espn graphiics, the big chunky pads, simple rounded helmets, neck pieces... yes yes, we evolved, and for good reason i know, but, 80s/90s kid can have some nostalgia.
