OMG THAT HEXTALL IS AMAZING! Iginla, Larry Murphy, both HOF'ers! And an Osgood! One of the best defensive forwards of the mid 90's-2000's in Lehtinen. A Sabre in Dixon Ward. And all around solid autos. WHAT A BOX! I have to say, that was some great luck getting a nice batch of autos! And those Milestones inserts look really nice as well! I've never seen this set broken before, those packs are cool as hell. I wish more packs were like that, honestly. I bought some of these autos as singles when this set was relatively new, I believe I have Gold auto's I picked up of Lidstrom and Lecavalier at reasonable prices. If I remember right, this was the first BAP set that came out after I got a computer and eBay started becoming a thing. That is where I bought those two cards from =) All in all, this was my favorite set from BAP, designwise, outside of the first 2 from the 90's. A really interesting design, and a lot of solid players in the set! And congrats to the winner on two really nice autographs!

Great video. I did quite a bit of this back in 98/99. Has it really been over 20 years since this came out? I'm getting old. Lol. You got some really nice autos there. Watching your videos always brings back a lot of memories of opening packs in my friend's shop. I look forward to your next video. Stay safe.

That was a decent pull. When the be a player first came out I dropped a lot of money on these and didn't really get much to show for it. That Osgood card is beautiful, that would make the box for me! #dryden

Great break! I remember Modin before he played in the NHL with ‘my’ team Brynäs(Silverberg, Bäckström etc) You could see his eyes change colors and you could touch the air in the arena. Everyone in the area knew that moments later he’d either score or nail a poor defenseman up against the boards. Whatever happened to him, you know?

The SHL must be great hockey. Not sure about Modin. He played 900 NHL games across six franchises, and won a Cup with TBL So he had a really nice career. I don't think ppl realize how good he was with TBL. He was very clutch.

Awesome pick on the box as always. I was lucky enough to pull the Gordie Howe auto (no jersey) back in the early 2000’s but ended up ended up selling it some years later. Easily the the top card I regret getting rid of and wish I still had 😕

Joe, poignant anecdote. I can barely find those BAP Howe autos on eBay. The main reason I trip when I hit a McD, Price, Beliveau, Esposito or Bower independent of value is I would never sell them. I see them as heirlooms.

Even though I have a bunch of autos from this set, I had never seen a pack or box of this product until today. Pretty awesome that your two gold autos were of goalies who have scored goals. You could build a pretty decent team with the guys you hit autos of in this break. That Luc insert is a beaut as well. It's cool that a Canucklehead won the Sedin auto. #DRYDEN

Such unique packaging. Seems like such a waste to have all that material surrounding the cards though. Oh it would be so nice to get a Paul Kariya auto out of this! Sweet gold auto parallel auto hits! Goalie mojo is going strong!

Ya, my goalie mojo has always been uncanny. I'm pretty sure the Kariya auto is a SP, so #/450 prints or less. Someone noted the Gretzky SP (not sure whether it was 98/99 BAP) was #/90 Silver and #/9 Gold.

Nice throwback. Back then it was cool and a big deal to have a hit per pack. Too many doubles though. Nice Iggy and Hextall. As a Habs fan he was a goalie I loved to hate. Lol.

Totally. And as a kid, the most influential goalies for me were Dryden (copied wresting my arms on my stick), Patrick (copied the butterfly), Hextall (copied hitting my posts to centre myself), and Hrudey (copied his bandana under my helmet).

I had bought a bunch of these when they originally (and a ton of BAP Millenium the next year.) Best auto I pulled was a gold Pronger which I still have. Pretty much all the superstars were SP’d, Gretzky only had 99 total autos (90 silver, 9 gold.)

Where are those print runs listed? I feel like buying it now is prob more rewarding, as we have an attachment to even semi-stars, who had long careers.

Fultoncards I remember it being listed in Beckett when the set first came out, not sure if you’d find it anywhere now. I know he was the only one that had a number, others were just listed as SP.

You got some great autos in that box, congrats! I've said it for years, but the Be A Player product needs to come back. I know UD owns the rights now, but they haven't done the set in 10+ years now, which is a shame. #DRYDEN

We can only speculate. They might be concerned that flooding eBay with low-end autos would devalue autos as inserts, across their endless products. They could do a stripped down version, or like Champ's release them occasionally. BAP may be my favourite product; I definitely collect them.

I know the first year of BAP, my card stores had packs showing as 15-18 dollars a pack on a sales placard in store. Of course, neither store ever had them in stock, and had tons of the autographs for sale. It was depressing, but I probably should have bought the Robitaille and Theo Fleury autos for 12 bucks when I could have from that first set. Kinda regret not grabbing those!

Did the gold die-cuts and silver die-cuts have the same odds to hit? Since the gold autos were a better pull, I would imagine the gold die-cuts would be harder to pull as well but idk

I opened two boxes and I think I pulled 4 Silver Milestones. The Silver SP Autos were printed to #/450 while the Gold SP Autos were to #/50. That's a 9-to-1 ratio. And the Silver non-SP Autos are almost every pack, while the Gold non-SP are - what - 1 to 2 per box. So, that's about an 8-to-1 ratio, if it's 1.5 per box. So, if I had to guess, these ratios relate to their printing sheets Silver vs. Gold. Maybe 12% odds to hit a gold Die Cut? #idk

@@Fultoncards Sounds about right. Gold is more valuable than silver as currency so one can only assume it's the same here. Also considering you pulled more silvers makes our observations of gold being harder to pull that more conclusive. I appreciate your response. Great channel!
