1998 BENTLEY TURBO RT MULLINER OLYMPIAN 1 of 1 Hooper Window VIDEO REVIEW RHD 6.75 litre turbocharged V8. This is a one off car unlike any other in the world. 1 of 3 Bentley Turbo RT Olympians ever made. Two were commissioned by Jack Barclay main dealer, one was commissioned by H.R. Owen main dealer. This is the car from H.R. Owen. All three were finished in Twilight Blue. This car had a colour change to what you see here, but remnants of the original Twilight Blue can be seen by the fuel tank in the boot behind the carpet.

The Turbo RT Mulliner was an exclusive and more expensive model of the Turbo R, with only 56 built - 7 on the standard Turbo R wheelbase, and 49 on a lengthened wheelbase. The Mulliner featured a 6.7 litre supercharged V8 engine, giving a top speed of 135 mph, and a 0-60 time of 6.6 seconds. Visually, Mulliners have more aerodynamic, rounded bumpers with prominent venting and often foglamps, as well as flared fenders to accommodate a wider track and larger 18-inch alloy wheels, sitting on low-profile 255/55 tires. Each car was built to individual specifications, with many sporting side and bonnet vents and also the smaller Mulliner rear windscreen. One popular feature in Mulliners is a prominent speedometer for the rear passengers.

The Bentley engine was never supercharged by the factory in the SZ series cars. They were turbocharged getting more power over the years until the later RT versions. I had a 1998 Brooklands Mulliner R which were a limited edition run out model with a light pressure turbo engine. I also had a 1988 Turbo R which was when Bentley finally sorted out the handling of the previous turbocharged Mulsanne series.

I agree with you. If I were to purchase this vehicle I would send it back to the coachbuilder and have it repainted the original paint scheme. It's a beautiful color now what the color clashes with the interior not a good combination. Nice video by the way definitely a unique model. Beautiful car thanks for introducing it.

Looking up the Bentley Register this is the third of four Bentleys with the last chassis number ...CH66418, as well as 2 RR silver spirits for a total of 6 olympians. I don't know why he says 1 of 1? The wheels are nothing special, they've been swapped from a Bentley Azure, and I don't know why it has an Mulliner badge where it should be Olympian? Anyway very cool.

It has the Hooper style rear window but I don't think performed by them. I am wondering if it was painted later in it's life by others?.Wouldn't the Olympian have an even smaller oval rear window? Very nice car though.

It was sent back to Bentley to be repainted due to the original owner not liking the blue colour upon taking delivery. I actually have another Olympian now. There were only four ever built!

It is an actual model. I've had 2 of the 4 ever made and still have one. The build sheet is clear. Jack Barclay and HR Owen each offered the model for sale through their dealership before the two merged years later

Not one of one, there were 4 blue Bentley Olympians officially made and 2 Rolls Royce Olympians made. Of the 4 blue originals, one was painted grey, painted by the first owner, who also replaced the wheels and removed the badge bar.

Of course they are "money pits" as is well known. That's why they depreciate at breath-taking speed. I wonder how long the head gaskets last in those old engines when turbos are added. My guess would be less than 50K.

@@TurbochargedV6 I had a 1985 Turbo R with a huge carb, that thing went like stink, it would blow a hot V8 into the weeds. Also I had a 1989 Turbo R, Australian compliance. I had these two cars at the same time.
