I have an Oldsmobile Intrigue from that same year and it has that same 3800 V6. It hit 100,000 miles about the time you posted this video. 3 1/2 years later it is still running great like your car is; almost has 120,000. I've owned it since early 1999.

mikeshumaker Good for you! I think both cars are same platform. 3.5L Intrigue faster (top-end) but the original 3.8 liter Intrigues break less

Got my Lumina in 2005, and after 4 engines due to that pos dex-cool coolant I'm still driving it hard! Slapped a brand new engine on it and rebuilt the trans. I rather sell my 13 malibu than my 97 lumina. And I got that rare dark metallic grey original paint on mine. Only seen 2 other Luminas since I got it with same paint job here in Cali.

Even with dual exhaust it is still very restrictive. The factory exhaust manifolds suck. With headers that 3.8 should scream. My lumina has a 3.1. Not a bad motor but it's no 3.8.

What are you sugessting fuel exhasut swap or just headers? there aint much space under the hood and it allready very very cramped . w body are great cars but some engenrring are false and lots of gltiches on the quality control . but gotta say elctronics never let me down in a lumina its a solid built car.

IZSKINS go with headers then complete exhaust swap. If you have a 3.8 it should make a difference. 205 hp is pretty good. My 3.1 makes about 175. I have done a lot of work on mine. Head gasket, lower intake gasket, gas tank, fill neck and all 4 trailing arms. She runs real good though. Has about 145000.
