I've had a bunch of obs Chevys (10+) and I've always went with the old school flowmaster original 40s with true duals, no cats and most of my trucks had long tube headers. I've tried a BUNCH of different mufflers on these trucks (3 different black widows, 3 different magnaflows, 2 different Dynomax, 5 or 6 different styles of flowmasters, I've also ran generic glass packs before. I always go with the flowmaster 40s. My uncle owns a muffler shop so I'm lucky

Sounds pretty good. My 2024 5.3 with catback straights sounds like a chump comparing it to this truck. Then again an old crackhead did my exhaust so without the small exhaust leaks it would sound a little better.

Hi... I have a question for you... I bought a set of 062 Vortec Heads off of a wrecked 98 chevy K1500 pickup.... to put in my old 82 Chevy box van. I took the engine out yesterday and now I am trying to decide if I should get a set of Shorty Headers for the ease of installing them... or a set of long Headers, I heard I might have a problem with the long ones hitting the Oil Filter on the Driver's side. I like the way that yours sounds... I will be going with 2 straight pipes with a pair of glass pack type of mufflers. Do you know the Part number of the Headers that you have ? Good video... No I didn’t get a tune afterwards, I don’t think that’s necessary for anything. And it’s all good man! It’s one of those exhausts where a lot of people aren’t going to like it. I’d like for it to be a little less poppy now, I’m sure I’ll change eventually

It’s a regular bumper with the molding removed and 3m chrome trim from the auto parts store stuck on. I’ve done it on both of my OBS, it’s pretty popular

If you put long tubes on them your check engine light will be on for O2 sensors. There’s a few ways around it but I’ve never bothered

The color looks the same as my 98, "copper." Your truck sounds better from the outside opposed to inside. To much slapping sound. I went with flowmaster 40's with 2.5 pipe, but going to change to 3 inch pipe for better pulling. 2.5 sucks for pulling, really boggs down the power. Still contemplating about adding headers. I think headers would be good. More of a want than a need.

Dont X Pipe a truck, always H Pipe a truck. (Higher Torque @ Lower RPM = H Pipe) (Higher Torque @ Higher RPM = X Pipe) Also H is lower tone than X. When you get sick of smelling like fuel put the cats back on but get high flow cats.
