Model number prefix of 917. Indicates that it was made by AYP (Husqvarna)

Thank you. Fortunately, it hasn't leaked oil. Sometimes you find older engines covered in oil and gunk because of some leak somewhere on the engine.

I'm a mower mechanic worked on many of these probably in the hundreds by now and I only seen one mower like yours in that good condition I guess the one's that come to me are the ones people dont take care of

I have a 97 for snow plowing. heavy duty. I put good tires out back with weights amd chains.. will move a lot of snow.. over 2 ft. long as its not up hill lol..

Do you know what this one is known as? Like GT 3000 GT5000 idk anyway mines almost exact but is model 917.258890 main difference I see was mines 20.5 HP Kohler Command... thx..

There is no other info that I know of on this tractor. There isn't even a "GT" on it. It literally says "Garden Tractor" on the front.

I bought this unit used and never got a manual for it. I did an internet search but this model number comes up with something very different than the tractor in the video. Maybe visit www.mytractorforum.com and ask around.

Oil filter is located on the left/driver's side of the engine. Carburetor is located at the front, under the air filter (where the label is on top of the engine.

@@RealManSkills I thought the big lever on the right side was to raise and lower the deck....can you clarify? I just bought one of these and I am trying to repair it....

@@Retro_80s_GuyYou have to twist the knob to determine how low you want the deck. The lever on the right brings it all the way in the up position or down to where you have the knob set. Hope that's clear. Maybe I should make a video.

I picked up the exact mower today with the same engine. It has the 22 Kohler Vtwin in it also but the serial number tag with the family and spec number is barely visible. Can you please tell me what the family and spec number of that engine is so I can find a few parts? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
