HELLO ALL! Here is a Detailed video on how to flush the ENTIRE Cooling system on a 1998 Lincoln Town Car 4.7 V8.
Customer had a previous mechanic Change her radiator and cooling fan. Apart of changing a radiator to retain the warranty and just to make sure you dont clog the new radiator you must flush the old coolant. This obviously was not done.
Was glad to do the job right and help her out and keep her car cool and running!

Thank you for the video. I have a 2002 and will be following your video to flush the coolant. If it wasn't for these videos I would not be able to afford sending my vehicles to a mechanic.

How did flushing your heating core go
@InternetDude

Overall this is an excellent and comprehensive video, the only suggestion I have is that you shouldn’t use high pressure air to blow out the heater core because you’re risk damaging it and causing a leak. Dial down the pressure to like 15psi to be safe.

I added coolant but I don't think I did it right because my 1999 Lincoln won't start. Any tips on how to fill up the coolant?

Same thing happened to me...mechanic replaced my radiator but didn't flush the system...said flushing would damage my gaskets or something. But the way I see it, the rust is damaging! Too bad you're not in Florida...need a good mechanic like you around here!

Get some Thermocure and follow the directions. It will liquefy the rust and clean everything. Not a bad flush job for a beginner.

oh man, i really don't want to flush the heater core, i have LPG conversion done and there's a lot of extra stuff running around that area which i don't want to touch. Would it still be considered a flush without doing it?

I need to do this on my 1993 town car. I've had it flushed twice in 3 years at a quick lube place, but I checked today and the coolant is dark brown :( I'm sure those places are not very thorough while doing it so I'll probably end up doing it myself.

I think the main problem was lack of maintenance from the previous owners. I did a quick flush yesterday, but I'll probably have to do another more thorough flush like in this video maybe this summer when I have more time and better weather.

@@jdcauto5977 so then in other words it wouldn’t be best to change out coolant and try flushing the whole unit including the heater core since the blower to my air is messed up. See originally started having problem with the air not blowing hard at all and then heater core went bad so I have it bypassed now but the coolant inside the reservoir is so rusted looking I figure well I should have it changed. So what do you think I should do in my case
