This was very helpful. On my 2005 1500 extended cab, there is another screw (the three you showed, and a fourth) on on the bottom of the panel going straight up into the door. Maybe they only did this on the extended cabs, not sure. Everything else was spot on.

Great audio instructions and video. I screwed up putting back together. Be sure to install the long 7mm screw behind the door handle and the short 7mm screw behind the door lock.

2006 2500HD driver's side door Bose speaker isn't working , it looks like the door panel has been off before and not a very good job putting it back on, there's clear tape sticking out from behind the panel in the front. and back. Thanks for this video, simple process but it always helps to know exactly what you're doing and this video accomplishes that. I'm hoping the speaker is the issue or maybe a loose wire and not a blown channel on the radio. Thanks again.

It's likely a bad speaker. If you have the Bose radio, you have a Bose amp. I've never seen one drop 1 channel. They usually just quit. Pull the panel, check wiring, pop test the speaker (you can google how to do that, you may be able to tell right away that its bad just by looking) grab a set of 6 3/4", wire em up, screw then in and do the other side. I like the Memphis SR 6 3/4" coax...fairly inexpensive, sound great and fit well. Best of luck to ya.

The 2003 and probably earlier Silverado's have a lot less screws and clips etc. than the one shown in the video. About half as many actually. If you have manual window cranks there's one clip that you can push down on with flat screw driver and push it off. When you start to put it back on just put the clip on the handle and push it on until it clicks in place instead of trying to put the handle on and then try to put the clip on.

There is a screw at the underside of the storage panel of the bottom of the door panel/ You'll see it by looking under the bottom. When you take the storage bucket out, you'll see two large white plastic "J" shaped clips holding the panel to the metal openings. You need to pull the panel upward while pushing these clips inward to disengage them. This is on the 2003-7 Silverados. There are no screws on the sides of the panels like the one shown

My speakers didn’t last 30,000 miles and I never cranked on them, mines a crew cab so I changed them all, factory speakers are junk. Now I’m on my 4th time pulling off the door panels, window motors, regulators, tracks, lock actuators etc, all before 55,000 miles. Everything in these doors are junk. Now I’m off to get the rusted out rockers, cab corners, rear wheel arches and all brake lines replaced at 60,000 miles. These trucks were built cheap.

It would be nice if your videos were correct because I had to take my door panels off my 2003 Silverado 2500 and there were no clips on the inside of the truck to remove and there was no t20 screw at all and there was a screw on the bottom side of the door panel holding it on the bottom of the door also to help your readers the wiring harnesses are real short to where you have to have patience hold the door panel how to remove the harnesses don't forget you have one at the lower side for your light too

Does the window switch panel come out without taking the door panel off? Or MUST the door panel removal mandatory; means window switch panel comes out from INSIDE panel AFTER REMOVAL.

Getting the door pedal off seems easy but how do you get the pedal off when the driver door won't open lol any trick to getting the door open?

1. The 2004 doesn't have those 2 screws on the sides of the panel. 2. When you re-install the panel be sure to line up the slot in that plastic piece (on the back side of the panel) that the door lock rod fits into. Otherwise the door lock won't work!

Yeah, so how do you do that? It doesn't line up until the 5 holder brackets are in their sockets and you can't get the brackets into the slot on the door while it's in the way.

99-06 models are very different and I don’t think they should be grouped together in one video.

They are nearly identical. Older models have less hardware than what's shown in the video but removal process is the same.

Elite Auto Solutions, LLC on 2002 you have a hidden screw behind the switch, but on my 2004 if you try to pull the switch first you will break it.

I managed to break the handle that you pull to shut the door from the inside. Ripped the screws out and everything. I just put a good bit of two part epoxy on there but don't know if it will stay. If it doesn't what should I do

Tony Attard You can get plastic pry tools online. I bought my v shaped clip remover at ORielly Auto Parts. I also use a pry tool made of 4140 steel that I absolutely love.

jon ahse . Other than spme years not havong tree clips on the front edge, There shouldn't be any difference (I just changed a window regular in my dad's 03 2500). Just the T20 and two 7mm behind the door lock and open lever. Pull up firmly on the door panel. Let me know if you find anything different.

Is that plastic that covers the interior of the door essential at all? Mine was all sealed with plastic and i wasn't sure if i should peel it off. It looked kinda important

Michael Godfrey That's a moisture barrier, it keep moisture away from the door panel/window/ lock electronics. Doors are designed to allow water that the weather strip can hold back to drain out the bottom of the door.

Michael Godfrey Yes, the plastic is usually sealed with a black tar like goo. We use a heat gun to soften it and again to reseal it (it doesn't have to be perfect, just get it in place. The door panel will also hold it).

I'm sure there a ton of videos for that part. I always use a towel, slide it between the panel and handle. You pull it tight and work it around in a circle. The towel will grab the clip and spin it off. Bonus is it will catch it vs using a pick or screwdriver will send it flying. kzbin.info/www/bejne/pp3KY6isp5lgp6s

That part goes behind the door lock. There are some tabs on the backside of the panel it attaches to. We've had plenty that were missing that piece. They go back together fine and don't seem to have issues.

The stock speaker is 6.75'. You can use a 6.5', we do it all the time. Pioneer and Power Bass both make 6.75'.
