1999-2007 gmc/Chevrolet full length center console swap

Todays video we install a full length center console on my 2005 gmc sierra crewcab which originally came with a jumpseat.
Straight forward swap.

I like the center console, I have two 2000 1500 one is bottom line with crank windows the jump seat to me was a waist of time. The other is a lt fully loaded with center console and it looks so much better. Did a good job. Cheers

I am about to do this swap and all i could find were videos of doing the center console to jump seat swap. im not sure why everyone wants the jump seat. i prefer the console look and i never use the jump seat. Thank you for the great tutorial!!!

People like the jump seat because for people like me who are 6’ 7” tall the console hits our knees. I like this video though, very helpful to reverse engineer, as I can’t find a good jump seat install video.

Thanks man and yeah it has an alarm along with a couple of different kill switches steering wheel lock and it also stays behind a locked gate with cameras and all LOL. And when I do take it out I make sure I’m always close to it lol. Sounds like overkill but u have to take care of you’re investment.

@@differentgarageprojects5656 I went and got the parts and they ended up being light grey tan. My whole interior is dark charcoal grey. The headliner is tan. So I went with the bottom half of my dash light grey tan. And it made it pop 100$ fuck the jump seat haha

I didn’t try to hook them up. I just wanted the full length console.But I’m sure you can get them to work if you get the harness that comes with it.

I bought one with the 2 trim pieces on each side for 100 bucks. Also has a sub in it. How would I configure the wires to use that sub when I replace it from the Jump seat

That’s not bad at all you can always look up at wiring diagram online or you can install your own speaker and just run the wires off it. Or you can get the whole harness off the truck you got that part from and try to do it that way

You can use the original glove box but you can’t use the frame around the glove box.

Crimps taps are always 100% a BAD idea and will be a future problem to deal with if not an electrical hazard. I cut out Every crimp taps I find and do it the correct way.

You’re absolutely right I ran into a few problems already with the crimp taps. Sometimes my lights would work. Sometimes they would flicker. So I got rid of the crimp taps and fix my problem!
