I found that even with this I was having to flex the glass a little more than I'd like to get it in. I ended up using a set of pistol grip clamps set to expand about 1/3 from the end of each end of the window set in the same frame as your expanding stick there. It got me enough play with it that the mud knife wasn't even required, I just had to push it once

At the beginning you said the piece was modified to fit without pulling the entire frame. Has it been ground down on the long sides?

You can NEVER grind glass without it breaking. Please re-watch the installation video and follow the instructions. This part is manufactured specifically for our company and is modified to fit easier.

@@autoglassamerica The piece I have I ordered from Ford and it is a good 1/4" to 3/8" too long on the latch side to fit past the actual frame itself. I tried fudging it with sticks and it just won't expand enough for the latch side of glass. I have a granite polishing wet grinder that has multiple grit pads. Most coarse is 60 grit. I've used on non tempered glass before but tempered I'm not sure. Not sure what to do. Spent $290 on the glass.

Brad, great video. I have a question, my son has an 07 250 with the sliding rear window. The "catch" that the latch locks to is missing from his window. Can I buy that part, I can't find it listed anywhere. Thanks

It sounds like there's something going on because that part would not be easily removed it's held in with two screws you need to call tech support. Also look at the lower corners of your back glass and look for the word ford or carlite if you did not see the word its definitely not repairable

Is there supposed to be a small gap at the top ? The top is past the rubber gasket. Either way it was pretty difficult getting it in without feeling like I was flexing the glass too much. I had to kick it to get it to pop in all the way.
