Hey Mike Brown if you're out there watching you were a head hunter and one of the best recruits to join NU. You made it a better place and God bless ya.

Nebraska’s last conference title to date. 😢

The 99 Nebraska defense may have been the best ever. Steve Warren was a DL beast.

Plus you had the Browns as seniors. I will say the only weakness was we no longer had stud DEs.

If Nebraska and Colorado had never left the Big 12 all the movement the last decade probably didn't happen 😒 and the Big 12 would still rival the SEC like it did from 96 to the mid 00s when the SEC became the power it is today as a OU fan and die hard I always thought of Nebraska as our biggest rival not Texas just think things could of been different because that's the game I grew up on Thanksgiving weekend for Big 8 and national championships

If Dan Bebe and Texas hadn’t been so short sighted you probably are right. I could be wrong but what I heard was ESPN wanted to create a big 12 network, before they went to the big ten. Texas and Bebe shot it down. If they had been smart enough to goto 16 teams. Picked up Florida schools the footprint would have elevated the Big 12 football. The recruits going to the NFL were numerous during that time, the QB play was something else. We will never know. I am a Husker fan, I couldn’t stand not watching big12 football on Saturdays, loved to hate Colorado and Texas, I actually liked OU, Stoops, Venerables, Bradford, Adrian Peterson, Jason White, Even Mayfield, fuckin Bosworth and Switzer! It was cool to cheer for those guys when weren’t playing them. When Stoops came back to coach the Bowl Game , I was cheering for them too. I rember when OU got screwed by Oregon in that early season game . Oh well All in another life, I hope OU and Texas give them hell . Hopefully we see you in a home and home and in a bowl game soon.

@@sunofpeter2 You’re mistaken, the big 12 shot down a network the only teams that voted for a network was Texas and OU, so ESPN offered Texss 300 million to form the longhorn network, can’t blame Texas, who would turn down ESPN Money, the longhorn network was created by ESPN. Blame the other members for voting against a network, you can google this to verify.

The best black shirt defense in husker history. It’s not even close.
@JGibreal Жыл бұрын
Great, but not better than the 71 defense by a long shot, statistically anyway. 99 defense gave up 13.1 pts per game w/ 2 shutouts. The 71 D gave up 8 pts per game, 3 shutouts but more impressive they kept 10 of 13 teams to 7 points or less.
@andrewcramer9200 Жыл бұрын
"Not even close" is hyperbole. 1996 was a great defense. 2009 was a great defense. The 1995 defense was great, but got subbed out by the 3rd quarter so yards and points were racked up in garbage time against 8th string walk-ons 🤣 Etc. etc.

Frank was never a chess player. He should have used the Newcombe throw at JUST the right time.
@Corey-dy2cq7 ай бұрын
Look at how thick the legs are on these guys. NU hasn't had that in quite the while. Crouch doesn't count. I don't know how he won the Heisman but Newcombe could throw AND run. Not as good after the knee injury but I feel like Solich should have let Crouch cry baby back to Omaha and never looked back. Frazier or Frost wouldn't have coughed up the ball in a big game like Texas.........which would have been the 6th title for sure. The running backs were bulls in a china shop. All you had to do was yell boo and those uncoordinated gophy bastards would have fumbled or got shoe string tackled. Yet they were 220 plus lbs. Never understood that. I hope selfish Eric is happy. I remember Bobby passing to wingback Eric in open space and he ran for a TD, maybe against Iowa. Eric you could run but you couldn't pass to save your ass. After Bobby's knee injury he couldn't run as fast but he passed more accurately because of it. But yet you selfish Eric I have to be QB or I will die ruined another natty for NU football. You were tough I will give you that, but your selfishness ruined the streak. Rest with it.

wow. You just go on all day with your butt-hurt feelings. Nebraska won, sorry that pricked your reality bubble. You write like someone who found grandma's whiskey and mama's computer at the same time, and you can't use either one responsibly. The proof is below- NINE times in a row : lots of hatred, ripping players, coaches, fans. Thank God you aren't a coach or a mentor. GFSF.

Not a popular opinion among Husker fans, but Eric Crouch was a better QB than Tommy Frazier. Gasps, shock, disbelief, right? If you look at the personal stats, folks, Crouch was better. Frazier just had a far better overall cast around him, and a much better head coach.
@michaelcombs93396 күн бұрын
Eric Crouch played more games than Tommie Frazier. Remember Frazier missed like 8 or 9 games in the 1994 season because of blood clots.

Stats don't make you a better QB! Leadership with stats and dominance! I loved them Nebraska teams, but Frazier overall just had a more dominate team those years.
@rooh58253 күн бұрын
@henrygettler339 Frazier had WAY better players around him and a better coach. Switch Crouch to 1994\95 and vice versa, he wins two titles and a Heisman. Frazier in 2001, still a great player but no title and no Heisman
@henrygettler33921 сағат бұрын
@@rooh5825 If you admit that Frazier was better cause of players, then the same can be said about his coach. This then takes away the fact that Crouch had a worse coach! Maybe Couch had a better coach considering he did it with less talent. According to you, you act like Couch was out there with 1 Star athletes and ran the show with little to no coaching!!!! WRONG. We can agree to disagree, but one thing is clear.....at that time Nebraska was elite, coaching, athletes but more importantly system!!! Not to mention a talyor made conference. Now moving to big 10 brought them $$$ but killed their football.
